Several Whovian characters have already made appearances in the Lower Decks Badgey Directive mobile device game and several of the IDW comic book series over the years.Well, apparently Pelia knows the Doctor!

Feels like they've been laying the groundwork for a full-on canonical live-action crossover for some time now.
He was discussing the "process" having not gone well because of the strike screwing up their production time.
It doesn't appear that he was talking about the quality of the writing.
I very much doubt he would be publicly criticizing his writing staff like that.
It does almost feel that way. There's of course been little nods back and forth over the years, but having both of the showrunners doing the panel last year and the recent references in both shows does feel a little like testing the waters.

And a callback and call forward to James Doohan's almost identical kilt in a couple of episodes of TOS.
Well, no, the Kirk Year One series probably isn't happening. My point is if Kirk were going to die in the S3 finale like you suggested, then why is Goldsman encouraging fans to launch a petition for a series he's already made sure can never happen?

Yup, agreed to all of this.
Season 3 has been markedly bumpier than previous years and 4.5 Vulcans was an outright stinker, but I doubt the showrunners would lambast the show outright. I give writer Bill Wolkoff a lot of credit for owning up to the problematic nature of the episode and being receptive to the insightful criticism, though.
I'll take 66%.
No Trek is 90% for me.

Hmmm, maybe they DO pay attention to TOS Canon, says this ex-canonista. That's a pretty finicky detail, and most productions wouldn't bother with it and instead would toss a Kilt That Fits at him. That should have been one of the signs of a bad movie Ebert wrote about. Generic Cultural Markers that when used can be offensive, like using the same headdress on someone from different First People tribes.
All clans have multiple tartan patterns. The one Scotty is wearing is called Scott Black-White Ancient. It’s just as “true” as any other Scott tartan.

The peak of this season was "Terrarium." Damn, the Ortegas and female Gorn episode gets better the more I see of and think about it.
