Saw the teaser... a bit too teenage angsty for my tastes, until the show proves me wrong, but I'm looking forward to it... Molly Hunter's voice struck me as a little odd--like a female Cartman tonality...just please, no 90210 in space... And hopefully ratings will justify a return to TOS as the next Trek installment.

Of all the new #StarFleetAcademy photos, this one is my favourite. You can see (full) images of the planets Illyria and Tellar Prime for the first time, Tellarite writing and the species' emblem and I think I can make out the Vidiian emblem. I'm sure will love this set once the show airs! :-)

Is it me, or are those PADD's just modern Tablets with a funky protective casing around it?

Picard and Discovery used iPads in the armrests of their respective Captain's chairs and elsewhere. Even before that, I believe a Blackberry was placed in a casing to make the new tricorder in Nemesis. It's a practical solution.

Somehow I doubt the budgets are comparable

They have one heavy make up cadet, the Klingon and one minor make up cadet., Bella Shepard's character. That about right for a Star Trek show. Plus a few heavy make up reoccurring characters.

A distinction without much of a difference. Point is, productions use mobile devices for display screens in sets instead of having to program independent monitors and computers.

Okay. Three points.

#1. This character is half-Jem'Hadar, half-Klingon, so not cloned. Different genders can result if you don't create beings in a cloning facility with strictly controlled genetic codes.

#2. It's been nearly 820 years since the Dominion War. I guess now there ARE female Jem'Hadar.

Would you go with a Tablet Size (Small / Med / Large Options are available), Smart Phones, Phablets, Foldables?

I know China has the Tri-Fold Smart Phone available.

I always felt the Alexander Courage fanfare should have been used as the Federation's national anthem, like how Nu BSG used Classic BSG's theme as the Colonial national anthem.

And if not the Alexander Courage march, the TMP theme, which I believe some fans have christened "The Starfleet March" as an unofficial anthem for the organization.

Go for cost of device first, than program around it for the GUI and make some cases.
