If SNW only gets 5 seasons as well

Interesting that they’re quickly pushing for letter-writing campaigns for something now, as the Skydance deal closes at last. I’ve never been one to speak in absolutes regarding business things none of us are privy to, but the timing is hard to ignore.

I dare say it might not even be a request just to tell the company if we want Star Trek: Year One; it might be an indirect directive to tell the company we want more Star Trek.

It's one reason the Kelvin universe was created (so it wouldn't step on TOS continuity).
It was created because the Studio thought there was too much Trek continuity; to the point that they thought it was was a barrier of Entry to many who felt they were passing on new Trek films if they didn't know a lot of the continuity behind the stories.

Kind of the way Disney and Kevin Feige view the current MCU situation; and why they are talking about a full reboot of that after the next few films.

It wasn't about stepping on TOS continuity; it was about restarting and simplifying it so that the general audience didn't feel they needed to know anything to enjoy a Trek film.

We now have streaming films (something that did not exist in 2009).

They might do a streaming film. A full-blown series? No. (Like it or not, the Kelvin films exist.)
