They both have too much hijinx and relationship drama.

So basically you think the shows are bad because they dare to have fun and depict their characters as actual human beings.
I consider Strange New Worlds to be far superior to the Orville in just about every aspect, but most importantly is the captain. Anson Mount's Christopher Pike over Seth MacFarlane's Ed Mercer a thousand times. Mercer was fine for the types of stories they told on Orville, but Pike to me is the epitome of what a Starfleet captain should be. He brings in the best of both Kirk and Picard into Pike.
I like it better as well but that is no knock on SNW. Like it lots as well.
I am excited. But....I predict many on here will hate the trailer and complain. That is what Trekkies do.
Maybe you'll be the one that hates the trailer and complains. We have no idea what kind of tone it's going to have.

But, it is rather predictable. Trailers are as well and tell me very little.

Until Discovery was found, he would've been considered lost with the rest of the crew, 900 years ago.
Though, in all honesty, it is just more canon splooge.

Yeah but isn't this Academy more recent than him being 'alive again'.
Also he's listed as Commander, which I think happened after the time jump. (Don't quote me on it!)
I have no idea, I kinda dropped out of CBS Trek. Was hoping this might be different, but it is clear they don't have an original thought in the entirety of CBS Trek production staff.
