I finally saw this yesterday, though I neglected to refresh my memory in advance for cast information. Not for the first time, I was watching ''Chameleon Boy'' Nicholas Hoult without realizing it.....plus his old partner in FIRST CLASS Edi Gathegi. Two Fortress of Solitude ice stalagmites way up.

Felt natural to me. Which was charming.

Agreed. I noted the first one arrived within the first few minutes, but I liked that they were never signposted or emphasized, just there in a low-key way that felt both humorous and affectionate.

Are Hawkgirl's wings natural or part of her outfit? When she was lounging around the Hall of Justice, there was no sign of them. I don't know much about the character, so I wasn't sure.

I think Gunn may have said somewhere they are magical. They are not supposed to be part of her outfit in any case.

Also, when Supes zaps the flying soldiers, they all were moving around after they hit the ground. There's no way they'd be alive after falling from even half that height.

Comicbook tech/physics. We’re clearly supposed to accept that Luthor’s armor protects the wearer just that effectively. Which I did with zero problem.

Winged heroes are always a pain on the page and the screen. The damned wings always fill up the image. So they need a way to disappear when not in use. They tend to not fold up neatly like actual birds.

For a term and a thing that "doesn't exist," according to some, "soft reboot" has managed to find its way into academic usage.

That's Braniac 5 - not the original Braniac.

Nah, Brainiac was created on Colu. Brainiac 5 is the descendant of a Coluan who was Brainiac's "son."

Though this was the third origin given for Brainiac and the one that stuck.

You are correct. It was a sequel to 1 and 2 and ignored the other films. I believe it was the first time a franchise had tried this approach.

Went for the third time tonight. They had another screening in English on my day off, so I just had to. Probably will go at least one more time. Maybe with my mom, if I can talk her into it (she didn't like the teaser trailer when I showed her because of the injured Superman).

Meeting Clark’s parents showed that how he speaks completely makes sense.

Much has been made of how little see we of “Clark Kent Reporter”. But every time we see him with Lois he is Clark. Regardless of that interview being with “Superman”. Same with his parents. Much is made of klutzy Clark. What we did see corny and old fashioned is not that far from he is as Superman. Why should he the glasses…

I always saw it as simple differences between personal and professional lives. There are things he would do and say as Clark that he would never do as Superman. With the opposite the same too.

I think in most versions they are a part of her, and they either disappear or fold up against her back.

Also, when Supes zaps the flying soldiers, they all were moving around after they hit the ground. There's no way they'd be alive after falling from even half that height.

Those suits are made to fight aliens like Superman, so I could see them being tough to help the wearer survive fall like. I've been wondering if the Lex's soldiers' armor might eventually lead to the Lex's green warsuit that he uses a lot in the comics.

In most versions of the Hawks, they also have lives without wings.

I don't know what versions those are supposed to be. The ones I know treat the wings as seperate, made from Nth metal that gives the ability to fly.

I just meant that the wings are not part of their bodies like they are with Dawnstar or Angel.

In the Golden, Silver and Bronze Ages they were mechanical and held on with a harness. Not sure when that changed, but it’s probably recent, with in the last few decades.
