Gran Turismo 5 Prologue? Huh?

^ The problem is that I don't really have a lot of room between my couch and my TV. So yeah, it'll probably take me a while to figure out how to set the whole thing up.

And honestly I think I'll just get the DFP. Here the G25 costs 250€ and the DFP costs about 100€, so I cannot justify paying more then twice as much for the G25.

Dude, you're not going to buy Prologue and then turn around and buy the full version are you?
I at least won't decide anything until I've tested it at my cousins place. In any case I probably won't buy it yet for a while since I can't afford a PS3 at the moment anyway.

And yeah I agree on the wheel Clegg, the G25 is definetly what I'm getting when I buy a wheel. Gotta have true manual shifting.

And just a quick note for anybody buying the game through the PSN, just like warhawk its linked to your PS3 and your account only,so no game sharing, and its needs online authorization to run, you cant play it off line, plus its more expensive than the retail version......

If you must buy it get the blu-ray version , its cheaper, can be played on any PS3 and does not require online connection to the PS3 network to run(Although you still need the disc in and a update must be installed).

I have played the Demo of GT5 Prologue....heh heh A Demo of a Demo.

It's really pretty but not that great of a racing game.

It is very much like need for speed (what a perfect description lol) your speedo says your doing well over 100 mph and it looks like your doing about 50 at best motion wise.

I'll pass on both the demo they will ultimately sell and the final release.

Man, I don't follow Gran Turismo much, but it seems to me that its developers never seem to get their shit together. The promised PSP version (a port as I understand it) was cancelled, and now this half-assed preview? When is the last time they managed to come out with a complete game?

If memory serves, both GT3 and GT4 had "concept" or "prologue" versions released before the real deal as previews of sorts, so this doesn't surprise me at all. The only difference this time is that GT5 Prologue is actually making it out of Japan.

Anyhoo, given that a lot of fans spent much more money last year buying Japanese PSN cards in order to get GT5P early, I don't think this will cause much of a blip. Is it a demo/beta? Yeah, but oh well... they gave out GT4:HD for free, so I guess this is their time to cash in.

Definitely will cause a blip, already over a million copies sold in the UK.

Call me crazy, but I'm conflicted on game sharing, the idea is great for consumers, but if I were a developer I wouldn't be very happy at all, especially a small time developer. I know the guys who made Gripshift weren't too pleased with it. I still use the feature don't get me wrong, I share with my brother who's in college, but I understand why game sharing is disabled for the higher priced games.

That's a pretty ridiculous assessment, GT has always been the undisputed high water mark for a racing game. They don't always have the bells and whistles, but the core game is always the gold standard.

The PSP game hasn't been canceled, it's been delayed till after GT5 is done, understandable considering the sheer amount of work it takes to accurately model the cars and tracks (three weeks per car). I think it's also understandable that the PS3 game be the priority for the development team.

The last complete GT game they made was GT4 released in 2005 in the US. Three years between games isn't unreasonable given the jump in detail and the fact that new engine technology has to be written for a new hardware platform.

Prologue is anything but a "half-assed preview", you should read up on what's included and what's planned to be included before making that assertion.

I bought this not too long ago for £17.99, not too bad considering its quite fun online and "eye candy" heavy.

I'm not keen on racing games to be fair, but I enjoyed the concept version of this... and for £17.99 theres enough to get your moneys worth out of. The cars and detail on them look class, while some of the tracks done look stunning...some are great. I like the London and Mountains one.

I still think it will take me forever to save up enough credits for the F1 Ferrari car in it tho.......... 2,000,000 it costs !
