Fake!!!!! It Can't be!!!
I prefer a more nuanced approach, where only the things that haven't appeared in Picard, Prodigy or Lower Decks are fake.
It's a dramatic presentation. Some creative liberties have occurred.I'd say it's the only answer that makes sense AND lines up with the official positions of the studio.
As the Doctor said (no, not that Doctor), "wibbly wobbly, timey wimey".How about the same (prime) timeline, but altered slightly in the details due to some many time-traveling shenanigans, despite attempts being made to restore things exactly as they were?![]()
As quoted by Wesley Crusher in Prodigy! As the Doctor said (no, not that Doctor), "wibbly wobbly, timey wimey".
I still need to watch the second season. As quoted by Wesley Crusher in Prodigy!
this has been my argument for YEARS.How about the same (prime) timeline, but altered slightly in the details due to some many time-traveling shenanigans, despite attempts being made to restore things exactly as they were?
This could even be used to explain some of the discontinuities in TOS where changes in terminology and even references to structural elements of the Enterprise, or why the name of the
organizational authorities are different from episode to episode or season to season, and seem to be bracketed by episodes featuring time travel?
The Kelvin timeline, on the other, hand is a completely separate parallel timeline resulting from no attempt being made to restore the original timeline.![]()
And mines as well!this has been my argument for YEARS.
And mines as well!
We all came to the same conclusion on our own =D
There was a fan theory that it was 'Dauntless', because Voyager had the slipstream-enabled Dauntless NX-01-A.I wouldn't even be surprised if it's original ship name was something different.
Could be that the first Federation Starship was the USS DAUNTLESS NCC-01, and that the Voyager crew assumed the ship was named after that historic vessel, only with an "NX" prefix, noting that it's an experimental ship, rather than an NX Class ship as was the class naming convention back in the 2150s.There was a fan theory that it was 'Dauntless', because Voyager had the slipstream-enabled Dauntless NX-01-A.
Obviously that ship was a fake, but the Voyager crew thought it initially seemed authentic, so may have understood it being a fitting name for a breakthrough new engine design.
But then after First Contact, Lily or Cochrane thinks Enterprise would be a more fitting name. The only thing is that 'Hope and Fear' was after the release of the film, and its events had previously been discussed in the same season with Seven nothing that ”the Borg were present during those events", which suggests it's post any timeline change.
