Season 3 First Look

IIRC Rigel mission in 2254 was referred to as 5 years ago. The Klingon war that ended in 2257 was said to be 2 years ago. And Im sure Uhura mentions that everything thats happened to her on the Enterprise was all "this year"

I could be wrong but Im sure the season dated itself as 2259.
Hm

I wonder if that was an oversight, or yeah maybe a time skip

It could be retconned with no consequences. Maybe it ticked over to 2260 during season 2 and theres like a 9 month timeskip for repairs and recovery following the Gorn troubles.

Or maybe the finale just ticks over 2261 and the big 100 is worth a whole year of celebration so it isnt the actual day of the event.

But this is assuming that is whats going on.

It reminds me of the Dreamship Surprise NCC-6969 bridge :D

Isn't that the film where the ship looks like a penis-and-testicles version of Voyager?

‪Jörg thinks the sign behind the (possible) Edosian says United Federation of Planets Centennial
Which if accurate, would place the season in 2261

Which does line up with it being 2 years after Season 1, which was in 2259

United Federation of Planets Centennial = What Frontier Day was supposed to be

The official blurb from cbs also says there’s a documentary style episode

In Season 3, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve.

An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, Season 3 takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy, and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek — including a murder mystery, a rom-com, and a documentary-style episode.
