Season 3 First Look

Star Trek setting up shop up here is one of the things we're making exceptions about. A lot of fans up here, and the ideals promoted in the show match our own to a large extent. I half expect the whole production team to up and relocate to Toronto, the way things are going.

If we're burning anything up here, it'll be MAGA hats, not Starfleet gear.

Anyway...switching from CTV to in-house streaming is a problem I'll have with Paramount/CBS HQ, not with the cast and crew, if it's happened. And it'll be separate from cross-border politics.

They need to rename this show Strange New Gimmicks…because that’s largely what I’m seeing from that trailer. Fed up of the overdone comedy stylings and teen level romance.
Look I am just gonna wait and see.......I was not happy when I heard about the musical episode.....but it wound up being one of the best episodes, so I can judge it when it airs. Not much difference really than the Robin Hood or Dixon Hill episodes.

If the parody stuff is actually Captain Proton, it could be great. But it should be grayscale then :D
It seems we'll get these silly episodes:
- Humans turned into Vulcans, moaning and crawling on the floor, getting Kolinahr with DNA
- Flash Gordon parody story
- 20th century murder mystery, perhaps a Dixon Hill holonovel (with 2360s hologrid?)
- Antique telephone story, maybe like in Data's nightmare? :D
Same basic comments as elsewhere so I'll just repost my answers from there
Looks more 50s/60s than 30s/40s like Captain Proton. Especially the dayglow colors.

Might be a locked room mystery. More Christie than Chandler.
Is there a reason the grid needs an explanation? Why can't the tech just look the same?

Why? Might tie into the holodeck problem.

the longer this goes, the more blatantly sure it becomes that this is no longer the Prime/TOS timeline.
Funny, the longer this goes, the more blatantly sure it becomes that this is absolutely the prime/TOS timeline. It feels like TOS. It feels Fun! It can be light hearted one episode, and deeply serious and thought provoking the next. It makes me feel..... young.
And Wow, that is a TERRIBLE looking Scotty.
Martin Quinn IS great.

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm wondering the if the '60s TV show and murder mystery and holodeck are all from the same episode, and it will be kind of a holodeck anthology episode, with the characters jumping different programs each in a different genre. If that is the case, I wonder what other genres they might do.
Definitely curious what exactly is up with all the phones.
Someone mentioned an Edosian/Triexian earlier in the thread, but I missed it when during the trailer. That's really cool, I've been wanting to see one of them in live action for ages.
Looking forward to Kirk and Scotty's first meeting, looks like that should be fun.
