The advantage to block shooting on streaming series these days makes it a bit easier on the scheduling end of things. If you've got a character that only appears in one particular set, you can wait for that chunk of the schedule to be over, rather than having to grab the actor for a spare day here and there as the old network filming schedule would allow.

Eh, the only new thing there is "they have a ship." Which I had already assumed anyway, as they'd need something for the Arrowhead graphic at the start of the episodes. Holly Hunter being "the head of something" isn't new, the casting announcement called her "Captain of the Academy" or something.

I do remember it being Frakes who spoiled that Discovery was going to the mirror universe in season 1.

IIRC, that actually was unintentional. He posted a picture of himself on Disco's bridge set, and everyone noticed the dedication plaque on the wall actually had "ISS Discovery" written on it.

You will love it I promise. Then after finally learning their lesson they can beg the great Matalas to forgive them and finally let us have our Star Trek:Legacy show. Then we get a new Captain Kirk show were he is taken out of cold storage and becomes the Captain on the New Enterprise. He will often talk to a vision of his old self in William Shatner. Then it will be time for the new Janeway show they are talking about. Then a DS9 reunion movie that deals with Sisko's return from the Prophets. Everything is going to be looking good for us old school Trek fans.

A movie about the Earth/Romulan War. Spin-off of SNW starring Una-Chin-Riley. A TNG in the Kelvinverse movie. A show about Quark and Rom having to live on the Klingon Homeworld for a year. A LIve Action Captain Boimler Trek show where he is put in charge Federation Cruise Ship. It's basically Love Boat in Space meets Star Trek. A Movie about KIrk's dad, starring Hemsworth.
