Strange New Worlds renewed for a fourth season

I like that Anson's phone matches the aesthetic. I choose to believe that is on purpose. :)

And is that a sudoku or crossword on his phone? Or maybe just a calendar app, I guess.

I love that even into season four they are bringing Adrian Holmes back as April. Fingers crossed that one of these days they’ll give the character an entire episode focussed on him.

Come to think of it – and I’m sure I'm not the first one who had that thought – a flashback episode showing how April commandeered the Enterprise on its maiden voyage would be super cool. The franchise is almost 60 years old and in all that time they never actually showed how the ship first got out into space. Alternatively they could tell a story around when April handed over the ship to Pike.

I'll settle for just flashbacks set during April's time commanding the Enterprise. Bonus points if he's wearing a cardigan during his time in command. Maybe Captains back then had the option of Cardigans, like Kirk's green wraparound, which we've also seen Pike wearing on SNW, or Picard's jacket or Sisko's vest.

Love the idea of seeing the launch of The Enterprise. You could even bring in Scott Bakula as a 133 year old Archer and Jolene Blalock as a 157 year old T'Pol.

And assuming the company shows interest in continuing the brand, that's why they create a newer "cheaper" show.
Starfleet Academy show--

Admiral Vance: Hi cadets! You're probably wondering why we're in a blank, unfurnished room. Well ever since the Burn, the massive resource shortage on the Federation meant we had to make some concessions. So you will have to be imaginative cadets. Ok, look at that wall over there, imagine a viewscreen, imagine a hostile Klingon cruiser on that viewscreen, and enact how you would respond in this situation.

If they do a story about the launch of Enterprise it will inevitably be a disappointment. Leave it alone.
If it was any other team, I'd agree with you. But SNW's is pretty much batting a thousand at this point. I'd trust them to make an interesting and dynamic story out of the launch of the Enterprise.

Plus, I'm biased as an Enterprise fan because I desperately want to see Archer and T'Pol again. I know it wasn't really visible on screen, but I'd love to see this Archer personnel file brought to life.

There's something genuinely moving about the idea of Jonathan Archer dying peacefully after witnessing the launch of the Enterprise, knowing the legacy of the name will continue.

Damn it, now you got me imagining a Star Trek version of the final scene in Titanic, where we see an elderly Archer lying in bed drifting to sleep, then we see him as he was during Enterprise's run walking onto the bridge of the NX-01 and reuniting with Trip.

We already got a Star Trek version of that at the end of another show!
