Highly doubtful. If they were going to stick to TOS designs faithfully the sets would look very similar to the ones used in The Cage pilot. And the Enterprise itself would have been an exact copy in terms of design.

There's nothing wrong with ending the show at a point before Pike's time commanding the Enterprise comes to an end. So Pike continues to have adventures which simply won't be televised. It'll help the tie-in material continue to do SNW stuff without being constricted to fitting it within the timeframe of the series, and it leaves the door open for potentially revisiting the show at some point, like a streaming movie assuming Section 31 didn't completely soil the concept irreparably.

And really, the epilogue scene tying into Calypso was completely unnecessary in Disco's finale, that scene between Michael and Book on the beach worked perfectly as a final scene anyway. Seeing Pike's fate in SNW's finale would be just as unnecessary, maybe even more so given we already saw his accident on Disco, with footage of it already having been shown on SNW a few times in S1.

Agreed, I'd love there to be an open ending, but unfortunately, I think that's a thing of the past, with most modern shows (not just Star Trek) both fans and the actual productions need to connect every possible dot for some reason.

Dream scenario #1 is Kirk takes command and Pike becomes reoccurring character for a while as a Fleet Captain. They can stretch that out for as long as they want until they hit "The Menangerie".

Dream scenario #2, we pick up our "story" right after TMP. Kirk stays in command for a second "five year mission". Let a few OS characters move on and bring in some new ones.

Never underestimate the power of fanwank. It easily trumps good sense. Look at how popular Picard's third season was, and how much positive traffic was generated online by remaking the old TNG sets for one episode.

James Cawley was contracted ages ago and gave permission for Paramount+ Trek people to film something on his sets but nothing has come of it yet.

I would prefer SNW's last scene be something with Pike on Talos IV post-Menagerie, to give his character a sense of peace to all the doom he's been feeling throughout the series.

Just seems to me they have committed to this 2020’s updated look of 1960’s. It has more in kin with the kelvin universe design than TOS imo.

Gonna have to massively disagree with you on that one. The SNW Bridge looks absolutely nothing like any version of the Kelvin Enterprise Bridge.

Or they can just continue doing their own thing with the show's already episodic nature and if that means there's a gap of time in universe between the finale and when Kirk is supposed to take command, than there's a gap. SNW's just fine as it is and doesn't need to emulate Andor, no matter how good Andor might be. Andor and SNW are completely different shows and there's nothing wrong with that.

SNW is adventure of the week, that's all it's meant to be and I suspect they won't drop that to do any more direct-TOS prequels than they have already.

If we get a shot like that (and no honestly I don't think we ever will), it will come at the end of the Nu-Kirk series; (if they actually decide to do such a series which I honestly don't think they will.)

The Kelvin Bridge keeps the basic design structure from TOS but other than the chairs, I can't think of much from the 1960's aesthetics.

Disagree. TMP era bridge looks more of a modernisation.
SNW bridge is too busy, the lighting and colour scheme are an eye sore.
Big white corridors very similar to the kelvin enterprise.
My biggest gripe is the crew quarters, very luxurious. Should be more cramped like in the cage.

The kelvin enterprise bridge still has all the layout and basic design of TOS.
Yes it's more liberal with its design aesthetic compared to SNW's bridge.

But SNW and the kelvin trilogy both take the original designs of TOS and put modern spin on them.

Even the uniforms from Star Trek Beyond have similar aesthetic to SNW.

Same, I especially love the extra stations on the kelvinprise bridge, and since them the classic ship and SNW update look kind of barren (but they save money on extras to man them, which is why the TNG bridge with extra stations was only in the movie and special episodes like Yesterday's Enterprise and All Good Things)
