Game TNG Episode Pitch Game

Faint of Heart

Hugh The Borg returns, after the events with Lore, because he & his renegade Borg drones are suffering a fatal flaw in their design. Apparently, when the Borg assimilated Picard, & added the technological distinctiveness of his artificial heart, all subsequent drones are now outfitted with a similar cardiac replacement, which requires updates, but because they're on their own now, their hearts are failing.

A collaboration with now Captain Shelby reveals that quite a lot of Starfleet technology is now being readily used by the Borg, further raising the threat of them having advantages over Starfleet

"A Glitch in Time" - While wearing an old jeweled necklace that was gifted to her after she admired it at a shop, Beverly finds herself moving between realities - one where she married Picard instead of Jack, one where she never existed and has to convince the crew who she is, and the real reality. Problem is, the necklace only lasts so long, and she may find herself stuck in the wrong reality. Each one has a crisis that she may be able to solve, but it may use too much precious time.

Interesting idea!

Problem is, the necklace only lasts so long

Why would it, though?

Each one has a crisis that she may be able to solve, but it may use too much precious time.

Famous Beverly quote from this episode: Why does every reality out there seem to pick on me?

Neither Wounds Nor Scars
Beverly refuses to evacuate a disaster area while rendering aid to wounded survivors, and gets caught in a terrible accident where everyone there is killed except her, including her team that chose to stay with her. She is returned to the ship, near death and horribly disfigured, and undergoes hours of reconstructive surgery with Dr. Selar, which returns her to normal, physically. The mental anguish and soul searching of her actions run much deeper unfortunately & leave her in a broken state of survivor's guilt, & command regret.

Meanwhile, Nurse Ogawa must arrange a memorial service for her fallen comrades & confers with her friends among the senior officers on how to best memorialize them.

Next episode: World's Away

Why would it, though?
Something to do with power in the crystal.

"World's Away" - Enterprise-D visits Morgar, a planet that is the site of an experimental project to move whole planets from dangerous areas with the use of a massive multi-engine propulsion system. A test of the project goes awry when the test asteroid they are using is hijacked, tech, personnel, and all, by a non-corporeal life form looking for their homeworld.

Next episode: "Strength in Numbers"

Strength in Numbers

Traveling back in time to before Yesterday's Enterprise, Picard recruits all the captains from the alternate timelines/universes to take out the Central Node of the Borg network in this one. He has to do it this way because the mission is controversial and he decides to try to hide it from Starfleet, but he's determined to do it nevertheless because he's haunted by the untold billions of humanoids who were assimilated after he decided not to infect the Borg with a virus that could have killed them all.

Next episode: IDIC

"IDIC" - Enterprise-D is thrown into chaos when the ship's alien compliment is turned into humans during a diplomatic visit from the Shurasten, an alien species whose mental abilities have been kept in check by a similar discipline to that of Vulcans controlling emotions. While the aliens grapple with how much of their personality is them and how much is their species, Beverly and Data try to help a Shurasten regulate their thoughts.

Next episode: "Fear of Heights"

Fear of Heights

A Federation scientist intimates to Picard that he has made an important discovery on the fabric of reality, and now he is torn on whether to pursue his research or not. It is expected, that in time, this discovery may lead to the ability to perform 'reality manipulations' changing said reality to a limited degree. With this promised ability however comes heavy responsibility. For example, would it be OK to will the Borg out of existence -certainly, thousands of species would be grateful, but what about the Borg themselves? Or to will the Romulans into a less aggressive species? Would the Federation have a right to reshape reality and other species to their liking? Is it even truly ethical to eliminate all suffering in the galaxy? The scientists fears the cloak of responsibility may be too heavy for the Federation to bear, that the Federation isn't ready for it. Long 'philosophical' episode with lots of PP's (Picard Pontifications) :)

In the B-story, Wesley discovers that he has a fear of heights, and he confronts that fear in the holodeck.

Next episode: Wholesome Life
(from the Shakespeare quote Thy natural magic and dire property on wholesome life usurp immediately)

Wholesome Life
Then enterprise is investigating an anomaly( really a man made temporal event). A wave of energy hits the ship cutting to credits.
Riker seemingly awakens in an alternate reality where he and Troi never broke up. While they still serve on the Enterprise he is no longer Picard’s first officer. Troi still councillor on the Enterprise believes riker when he tells her he’s in the wrong reality.

Next episode: For all the Latinum

"For all the Latinum" - Enterprise-D is tasked with providing support to Hieronymus VIII after word of a humongous vein of latinum (what's the right term for a liquid mineral?) is found underground, leading to a rush of ships hoping to capitalize on the discovery. Further complicating matters, Data determines that unlike other latinum, the deposits of latinum there are dangerously radioactive/contaminated with a toxin, but the Ferengi attempting to take control of the planet refuse to believe them.

Next episode: "Dissonance"

Dissonance

Enterprise
is requested to make 'second contact' with a recently discovered species, the Tazereth. Many teams are formed, each with their own objective, and they beam down to the planet. Missions go well generally, however, in each mission and cooperation with the Tazereth, there is always one slightly off-kilter moment, most of these seemingly innocuous but they still stick in memory and are therefore noted in the mission logs. However, when the strategic mission analyst team, lead by Data (who remained on the ship) start comparing and analysing all the mission logs, Data discovers some weird synchronicities and even 'higher order harmonics in the incidents' when compiling all these off-color moments that might point to a very dark secret ...

In the B-story, Worf, who has taken a few days off, tries to master the Su'TaGh , an ancient ritual Klingon instrument notoriously difficult to master (it is said only a true warrior can impose his or her will on it).

Next: A threefold cord

(Ecclesiastes 4:12: "And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.")

A Threefold Cord

While visiting her daughter & being escorted by the Enterprise, Lwaxana Troi, along with Deanna, must work with Dr Selar to combine their telepathic abilities, thru a Vulcan mind meld, in order to counter the attack of a seemingly super powerful alien intent on using his mind to destroy a refugee aboard the Enterprise.

In a B plot, Data shares a dinner date with Selar, the two of them temporarily considering an intimate relationship.

Next episode: Q-Rated

"Q-Rated" - Q puts Picard and other members of alien races on display in the Q Museum of Mortal Frailties as examples of various species and their weaknesses. Partly a clip show - we see choices Picard made in other episodes that display these traits. Meanwhile, Deanna receives a visit from her own counselor, and feels as though her counseling methods are being criticized by the elder professional.

Next episode: "A Thousand Ships"

A Thousand Ships

Enterprise is seemingly a part of a joint Klingon-federation fleet preparing to face a Borg cube breaching Klingon space. At the end of the episode the enterprise is destroyed only to be reavealed that this was a wargame in order to prepare for the borg. The episode ends with Worf opining how both the federation and Klingons are truly unprepared for the borg.

Next episode: Qo'noS One

"Qo'noS One" - Enterprise-D docks for repairs at a Federation base that was the first established in Klingon space after peace was made between them. Also docked there is a Klingon medical ship that requests to move patients to Enterprise because their ship is unable to care for them. Beverly discovers that some of the individuals are not Klingons but have been altered without their consent and don't know they're humans - their DNA matches that of MIA humans from a battle - including the mother of an Enterprise nurse. Meanwhile, Geordi oversees the offloading of several requisitioned items that have been a long time coming, and meets a cute supply clerk in the process.

“The House of Rikorf”

A transporter accident while beaming down to a planet with a matriarchal society causes the persons of Will Riker and Worf to be fused into one passionate being.. and this new well-endowed person satisfies, thrills, stretches out and impregnates all female government leadership as the Enterprise attempts to reign in the effects of their mistake, but is left with dozens of human/Klingon/x hybrids

@Mr. Friscus:

The premise:

It's the 1980s/90s, and you've been invited to pitch an episode for Star Trek:The Next Generation. (How exciting!)

Rules
1) Your episode must be something that could have appeared on TNG when it originally aired (think late 80s/early 90s TV).
2) After you write your synopsis, you get to choose the title of the next one.
3) Titles must be TNG style - Bible/Shakespeare/literature/poetry quotes/allusions, mysterious science fiction, historical references, phrases etc (if we may not get the reference, please tell us where it comes from)
4) Sequels to real TNG episodes are allowed.
5) Include both A and B stories, where applicable (TNG had both, unlike TOS (usually))

You use the previously supplied title (in this case:

to create an episode inspired by it. Then, you choose the next player's title.

"The Better Angels of Our Nature"

A distant relative from a senior branch of the Picard family long thought extinct turns up, with a claim to the Picard estate (based on his seniority of descent).
To add insult to injury, it turns out he has no ambitions or morals to speak of and only wishes to live a hedonistic lifestyle. It is suspected he is involved in illicit drugs trades, including that of Ketracel B, but this has never quite been proved. When Picard attempts to appeal to his better side, pontificating on the importance of self-improvement and what Picards had achieved in the past centuries, all he gets is raucous laughter and a 'I never thought people could really be so stupid to buy into that Starfleet crap'.

Jean-Luc is incensed at the thought of him and/or his brother having to turn over the estate to him, and quite possibly see his ancestral home converted into a center of criminal activity, but his claim seems to be legitimate, and there seems very little he can do against it... or can he?

Next episode: Neither Sword Nor Spear

(Sourced from the first book of Samuel, chapter 13: So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.)

"Neither Sword Nor Spear" - Picard, Riker, and Worf visit Aemric, a protectorate world which has never developed weapons or combat, with the goal of convincing the planet's people to allow the Federation to defend them in battle against the Romulans (the protectorate agreement was made as a way to allow the Federation to exchange science, medicine, art, engineering students with them, with the understanding that no weaponry or war would be taught.) Their guide, Mynfala, one of these students, believes her people must learn war; Picard disagrees, but is tasked with making a case he opposes.

Next episode: "Hypnosis"

Hypnosis

Troi & Data must work alone to cure an entire planet's population, as well as the rest of the Enterprise crew, from a mass trance state that has overtaken everyone but them, leaving them wasting away like zombies. In order to do so, they must identify what has left Deanna immune, & devise a method to either block the effect, or inhibit the nebulous lifeform that is affecting them.
