Some things work better in different mediums.I find it a little ironic that The Acolyte is the least popular Disney+ series, but yet it's the first one to actually get it's own tie-in novels.
Print media is still a dinosaur in a lot of ways, and it usually takes forever to get a project from inception to release. The ball probably got rolling on these long before the show premiered, so the show's reception is neither here nor there.I find it a little ironic that The Acolyte is the least popular Disney+ series, but yet it's the first one to actually get it's own tie-in novels.
'A New Dawn' is a pretty good one, and I think there's an accompanying short story that more firmly links it with a character that also shows up in the Kanan comic. I think my only complaint is not with the novel itself, it's that we didn't get any follow-up media that explored Sabine or Zeb's backstory a little more, and how they came to be on the Ghost. Filloni is clearly *very* protective of his characters.I started reading A New Dawn earlier to day. I've had it for a while, and had moved it up on my reading list when Ahsoka came out, but then I got into The High Republic and it got shoved back down. I was getting The High Republic stuff from the library apps, but I decided to focus on stuff that I own instead, so that moved it back to the top of my list.
The show implies a few things; like Sabine being a relatively new addition to the crew, something closer to a year than not based on her still struggling to trust Hera in season 1. One might presume they crossed paths while Sabine was working as a bounty hunter, trying to get in with Black Sun, but after she parted ways with Ketsu.I was wondering if we ever got any stories about how Zeb and Sabine joined the Ghost crew, because I don't think the show ever went into much detail. A little disappointed to see that we haven't.
There's really not of lot that's explicitly stated; most of it can be gathered from inference, reading between the lines, and just approximating a chronology of events.OK, I didn't realize there was that much information in the show.
Coruscant reckoning calendar. It showed up in a reference book a while ago, and was used for Marva's funerary brick in 'Andor'. Not exactly been widely adopting in other media, but then Star Wars quite wisely shies away from getting into that kind if minutiae.Where does the CRC dating system you're using come from?
I rather think CRC is the most widespread, but mostly used for the purposes of record keeping and communication protocols, akin to UTC in the real world. I imagine most worlds keep their own calendars for most day-to-day uses (as evidenced by the Lothal Calendar.)Yeah, I like that too. I'd been wondering what kind of a calendar they used in universe, because I knew there was no way their dating system was going to be based around one random battle.
