I haven't read the script, but his filmography indicates he isn't very good at science fiction. All duds. But I'll also give him the benefit of the doubt because with movies, the main driver is the director. In the case of Nemesis, I doubt Logan was the one who came up with a 10 minute scene of Picard riding around in a buggy playing GTA.

IIRC, the only reason he was picked by the studio to direct Nemesis was Paramount owed him a favor for saving another of their movies in post-production.
