Alex Kurtzman on streaming movies and the future of Trek

all of the 'fanwank ' in ENT season 4 is partially why it's my favourite season of ENT. And still haven't forgiven them for cancelling it.

And I agree Coto was better at it than Matalas. I didn't like Matalas's habit of bringing back legacy characters just to kill them off
I'm just glad the TNG crew survived. When it was first announced that they'd be back, you'd be forgiven for thinking that half wouldn't make it to the end. Probably from brutal eyeball torture.

yes. You have people like Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker who make money from hating everything, or saying they hate everything.

And on the other side, you have sites like Trek Culture, who i enjoy, but are extremely positive about virtually all Trek , and can't say they don't like it, or they will lose access to Trek interviews, premieres, etc
Nonsense. They were very negative of Section 31. And has it occurred to you that they may have actually liked the stuff that they say they liked? They're just not toxic like so much of YouTube.

There is still a considerable chance that SFA gets axed before the airing of its first episode. Especially if the S31 outrage sparks further momentum.

It will be hard to rationalize another Trek streaming movie if the first is met with so much ridicule and rejection.

They need to change the overall trajectory of the franchise. Maybe some of the upcoming Paramount execs made sure that S31 fails so they can start Star Trek over again under a new management and a new production team.
Dude, if you really don't like it, don't watch it, you're acting like a 16-year-old teenager.

There are very few Star Trek fans in Turkey. There is almost no content producer on YouTube. Some watch old and new Treks, there are YouTubers who don't like new Treks but they don't even talk about it and most of them don't even watch new work as a reaction.

I genuinely don't understand the thinking here. Even if Paramount was to do this, what makes you think that the 'execs' are going start the franchise over in a way that pleases you? If anything evidence would suggest that they would double down on making trek that appeals to a mass audience instead of fans such as yourself.

There is no way to appeal to fans who view it through rise tinted glasses. The show doesn't exist.

"Be careful what you wish for..."

This feels like a broken record, honestly. If "X" happens, maybe "Y" will?! Been reading drivel like this since I was 8 years old, which is 45 years ago.

Their only concern is how quickly can they recoup their investment in any given project. There are no stakes or anger that are going to change anything if the product is hitting revenue projections. YouTuber's are sour on current Trek because that is what generates clicks and views. I'm betting that many of the same folks who are spewing shit also privately enjoy the shows. Let that sink in...

Money talks.

That is all. All the outrage click bait will not change that. Ignoring it would do more.

Star Trek is dying.

We need a show about how a better future isn't possible without space CIA genociding people.

Brilliant. This man deserves the millions he is siphoning from Paramount.

I think that show is called "Strange New Worlds". See also: "Lower Decks" and "Prodigy." No genocidal Space CIA there.

Two of those were cancelled and one was shelved for a year because he needed to work on his vanity projects.

For those of you who still might think that Trek Culture won't be too negative on Section 31 because they're afraid of losing "access", I give you exhibit B.
