Alex Kurtzman on streaming movies and the future of Trek

Whereas if a show or movie don't interest me enough to actually watch them, the last thing I'm going to do is watch a four hour YouTube video talking about them. But I guess I'm just old fashioned that way.

I have watched videos about epic train wrecks that I generally don't have interest in.

The length really isn't that big of a deal, as they're not something that demands your full attention at all times. They're like a podcast which you can put on while you're working or playing a game.

The length is a big deal if you work, have kids, and obligations. I don't do the multitasking thing.
Am I the only one who is willing to give New Trek shows a fair chance by watching it in its entirety before passing any sort of judgement on it?
Based on the Internet in the past 24 hours, yes, you probably are.

I can't do it either (I had to stop and restart Joker 4-5 times to get through it).

There aren't many movies that can command my attention for a sustained period of time. Going to the theatre would be torture for me.

I can absolutely relate to that. I rely on YouTube keeping track of where the video was stopped so I can continue where I left off.

I guess I'm a dying breed of fan.

One who is willing to go through the entire series before judging it in it's entirety.

But I do that with nearly all shows I watch.

It's very rare that I judge things w/o seeing the entire show/movie/series/etc.

So, you don't ever give up on shows? If you start it, you watch it all?

I rarely give up on a show, at least midseason, myself. It has to be really bad. I want to see what the content creator has in mind for the full story. But, I definitely get dropping if a season is complete garbage. Still, I get my method is not for anyone.

Not my way but restrictions of time means that a series has two episodes before I drop it.

Films are a case by case.

In this era of reaction videos I'm inclined to think your way is unique.

99.9% of the time, I would do that.

Otherwise, I don't start the show at all.

I usually know enough about what I go into watch, before I decide to give it a try.

I always do alot of background research into the material & universe before I even dip my toes into it.

In all of the Star Trek shows that I've ever intentionally went in to watch, there has been only 1 episode that I skipped / dropped part way.

That was the DS9 ep where Quark dressed up like a women, that just aggravated me for some reason and I couldn't finish that ep.

I actually had to watch the SF Debris ep on that specific episode & read up to figure out how dumb it was.

Other than that, I've generally watched every single Trek show I've intentionally sat down to view in it's entirety.
