That is such a weird thing. Like when they go back to 21st-century Earth and they find Pelia, she seems to have no idea about spaceships or aliens. Like at all.Yeah, me too. Pelia is cool, I got no beef with her. Not even her funny accent.
I do have issues with there being a singular "Lanthanite accent" though. Surely Lanthanites have a diversity of accents, just like humans do?
I'm really thinking that Lanthanites are supposed to be Earth-native, or mutant humans.
I'm not certain, but it seems like they want or maybe originally intended for Pelia to be the same type of mutant that Flint (Requiem for Methusaleh) was. As if there's a very rare strain of human, or a near-human species of quasi-immortals, that's lived among us for so long.
But the fact that you can tell one from their accent means two things:
1. The accent must be strongly present in most or all of them
2. The accent must be exclusive to them
But Carol Kane is just doing her standard "Jewish Dracula" voice. So what's the implication there?
