Kirk learned his lesson. He did all of that. Even tried a go as a love instructor but it didn't matter. He wanted to compand the Enterprise so he could be out their hooking up with alien hotties and a hot Vulcan first officer to boot. He knew things had changed since the days the Federation really got into a retro 60's vibe so he had to bring Bones along for moral support and also because Bones had really gotten into the modern day 70's disco retro culture and he was going to need him as a wing man.He even had a replacement for Spock in Commander Sonak but sadly that didn't work out but he got his beloved Spock back so it was even better. They all had a blast for a few years before Kirk got recruited to run Starfleet Academy. Making the same mistake again of leaving the bridge but thankfully got a third chance even if it ended in Spock dying.
Let Moore stick with For All Mankind until it’s done. That’s a show that beats the shit out of any Star Trek produced from DSC onwards.

If Subspace Rhapsody is wrong, I don't wanna be right. One of my favourite episodes of Trek ever made. The fact they pulled it off, and they did, is a testament to strength of everyone on that production.It had no business being a musical.
It was OK. It wasn't awful. Some parts were just downright silly. But overall it was an interesting idea that I hope they don't follow up on, or suddenly decide that the fans now need an entire series like that.
Heh. I don't want a sequel. But... I would like to see the balls and the skillz it would take to make a SERIES.
I am rather curious about what we're getting in the third season that the actors claim is "more ambitious" than the musical.
Other than Roger Korby we haven't heard of any legacy characters. Although IIRC they actually kept Scott's intro secret.
I watched Lost in Translation last night and it made me wonder if we would ever meet George Kirk Sr. And if they might pull some fun stunt casting. I'm assuming Hemsworth or Pine would be too expensive. And neither is quite old enough. Who would be a good "Hey it's THAT GUY!" casting for Daddy Kirk?

Aaron Eckhart is about the right age and look. Most importantly, he has done television is recent years. He's a recognizable face, but also isn't a huge A-list star, so you could probably get him for a decent price.

Fingers crossed for 174-year-old Vulcan magistrate or Councillor T'Pol with Jolene Blalock getting lured back into the role for one more go at the character. Hey, a nerd can dream, can't he?
