True, once Westmore had the basics it could be reused.
Which is why when any of the shows do an "Aliens Assemble" scene the ones that show up tend to be the ones we've seen before. The more episodes with aliens the more aliens you have in "the bank".

Stopped watching or reading his rants years ago, my life has been better for it.
It wasn't nearly half, it was over half, since the only human regulars were Ben, Jake, O'Brien, and Bashir.

Sorta.. It turns out Ben wasn't quite so human.
He is jealous that Discovery has been better than Picard season 3, that's all.
Yeah, and you can make the argument that since Julian was an augment, he didn't quite count either.
In the end, only Jake and Miles were "normal folks" - which makes sense, as they were two of the only characters on the show that didn't have superhero-level backstories and/or abilities.
Although O'Brien will be remembered as Starfleet's Greatest.
There are entries in the various Pitch Games that are better than PIC3.
Well, if we do indeed count Sisko out due to being part Prophet, then that also eliminates Jake... he's 1/4 Prophet.
So the only fully human lead was O'Brien. Which, ironically, helps explain why he was the one to be made to suffer so much during DS9's run.
He had no 'plot armor' or superhuman abilities to help him prevent the suffering.

I don't think there's any evidence that Jake inherited "prophet genes" from his father.
Indeed, I don't think that Ben being half prophet had anything to to with genetics, considering the Prophets possessed his birth mother for a short spell, then left her.
I am pretty sure the numbers don't support that.

Well, I looked RMB's comments on twitter. He went completely off the cliff. Saying that Discovery is the worst thing that happen to Western Civilization shows how much, to me, he has lost perspective.
