Pre-Warp ships

Does look like this design is modular anyway so yeah, swapping out the engine modules for a ring drive would be a possibility. :mallory:

Pre-2063 config and post-2063 FTL configuration:

The forward module is has small nacelles that allow 'warp hops', and are good enough for intra-system flight, for example from Luna to Jupiter Station and back.

Starting to plan out textures for the forward module, early days so far:

I can see it tying back to SpaceX designs.
Spacex's Starship has been a strong influence on several of my designs. I've no idea whether Starship will live up to the huge hype, but it's definitely a fascinating shape to base scifi vehicles off of.

I've been working on the warp ring this evening, and also put the same ring on my old (and unfinished) XCV-330 freighter. It would be nice to finish that one off too.

You continue to amaze me with your hyper-detailed ships that somehow don't look busy or fussy at all. Not sure how you do it. Fantastic relatives of the DY style, and definitely look like they fit comfortably in that design lineage.

Looks like a Lego set. Which I like.

Honestly, it looks fucking fantastic! Especially that latest color version. I would buy this as an Ealgemoss model, if they were still a thing, just because I want to hold it in my hands, study all that detail up close, and display it on my desk to look at. That’s how much I love the design. :)

The Space-sub looked good in grey, but great with a splash of colour. What about adding in a dash of gold, for that old school solar reflecting foil/solar panel look? Maybe just those panels on the wings?

Thanks guys, happy to see that the paint job is going over well :)

I think a lot of gold might clash with the orange, however I am contemplating adding some deployable/retractable ISS style radiators and solar panels, which, as you say, have a goldy/orangey appearance.
