New this week: Two chunky volumes of "Phantom of the Backlots", compiled from many Facebook posts by a guy called Donnie Norden, whose house backed onto one of the movie studio backlots when he was a kid. These trade paperbacks, "Hole in the Fence" (2021), and "Uninvited Visitor: The Adventure Continues" (2024), are a lot of fun and contain a few Desilu and Star Trek mentions.
Also out is IDW's "Star Trek: Defiant" comic, Issue #14.

And, accidentally, I stumbled across a "Movieland" Wax Museum (long defunct) set of View-Master reels that features the "Star Trek" TOS bridge exhibit as one of the 21 paired images. I saw these wax figures in person, in January 1984, and had bought a packet of reels about the museum at the time. Coincidentally, I photographed them with a Nimslo 3D camera. Several decades later, I even tracked down the elusive packet No. 2. (I had been certain that it would include the Trek exhibit, but no.) But
this third one, on the much later blister pack, was quite a surprise! It is even on the card front:

Just arrived: IDW's "Sons of Star Trek" #2, and my newly arrived Mego Ambassador Shras of Andor holding a tiny version of my pal, Kelly Hoffman's book from 2000, "Unauthorized Handbook and Price Guide to Star Trek Toys by Playmates".
