Okay, I went a bit crazy today. My new Manifold Starfleet cadet boots from Fluevog Shoes (sold locally in The Rocks, Sydney, Australia)!

This week's book arrivals are the "Steelworks" trade omnibus comics (DC, 2024) written by TNG and DS9's Michael Dorn, who also voiced "Steel" on TV...

... and the script of "Picard: No Man's Land", the audio drama by Kirsten Beyer & Mike Johnson (Gallery, 2024).

Woah, you're not kidding. I just looked them up in my neck of the woods and I think I'd be scared to wear them at that cost. I know plenty of people spend that much on shoes though, no shade. :)

My old black zipper boots have cardboard to cover the holes in the soles! I haven't bought new "for good" footwear in about a decade, so a splurge on leather shoes that fill the house with the smell of leather is worth it. And... Starfleet boots, as seen on TV.

New last week! "Star Trek: Year Five" deluxe edition, volume 2 hardcover, reprinting IDW’s "Star Trek: Year Five" comics, which lead up to "The Motion Picture". (They have already been collected in four trade paperback omnibuses.) Also from IDW is "Star Trek: Lower Decks" ongoing, Issue #1. In the pic are "Micro Figures" of Kirk, Spock and the USS Enterprise, plus "The Most Human: Reconciling with My Father, Leonard Nimoy" (Chicago Review Press, 2024) hardcover biography by Adam Nimoy.

This week's haul: IDW's Star Trek: Defiant" #21, Titan's "Star Trek Explorer" magazine #13; and Billy Van Zandt's hardcover memoir, "Because It's Funny: The Plays of Billy Van Zandt & Jane Milmore (Falcon Books, 2024). Billy (ie. the Rhaandarite bridge ensign of ST:TMP) also has a chapter, "I Stalk Lucy", in the book, "The Way We Work: On the Job in Hollywood" (Rare Bird Books, 2019), edited by Bruce Ferber.

And my "Star Trek: Lower Decks" statues have arrived! Yay!

I got the last issue of the star trek magazine in the mail. I'm sorry there won't be any more magazines.

I got the last issue of the star trek magazine in the mail. I'm sorry there won't be any more magazines.

I had prepared an article for them, about my fannish activities (since 1979) but just before I sent it, the axing of the magazine was announced. I figured those final two issues were already scheduled.

It was quite a thrill for me, though, to see the very last "Contents" page (below left). Therin made it anyway. I feel like Q's conscience:

New arrivals last week: IDW's "Star Trek" #27 and "Lower Decks" #2 comics; the final issue (#14) of Titan's "Star Trek: Lower Decks" Explorer" magazine; "science fiction novel, "Praxis" by David Gerrold (not Trek, but a clever Trekkian title!); Hot Wheels' "Racer Verse" Admiral Kirk; and six "Lower Decks" Chibi-in-motion keyring figures...
