There is an aspect left dangling I feel needs to be followed up on. T'Lyn has a fatal neurodegenerative disease that is normally only in Vulcans of advanced age. Why is this treated like it's a minor or temporary condition? T'Lyn's resolution of her current emotional instability does not prevent future outbursts that can endanger lives. For the safety of the crew, should she be taking some kind of psionic-suppressant?

Not gonna lie, it's weird af that you would point out two people of the same sex kissing when someone asks if the episode is suitable for a 10 year old, as if the fact that they're kissing is somehow problematic.

It's not weird to point it out. For you, the gay kiss is not problematic, but for some people it is problematic. Your values are not everyone else's values. And parents have the right to set their boundaries for their own children, especially on matters of sex education. I think @Destructor has the right to know that there is a gay kiss in the episode so that he can make a judgment for himself about whether it is suitable for his 10 year old to see or not. I am not making a judgment about the gay kissing. I am simply stating what is in the episode so that Destructor can make an informed decision for his family.

^ Okay, whatever. Just going to point out that two people kissing has little to do with “sex education”. That you want to stylize something as mundane as two people kissing into a sexual act warranting a warning is problematic. And you would probably never have pointed out two people of the opposite sex kissing in the episode.

Well, in the episode, the two characters are laying on top of each and making out. So yes, I would say that there was a sexual component. And LBGT issues are part of sex education so yeah, what a parent chooses to tell their 10 year old about LBGT issues, like a gay kiss, is certainly part of sex education.

But you are missing the point. It is not about your morality or mine for that matter. It does not matter if you think LGBT issues are mundane. It is about Destructor having the right to make that decision for himself. That is what you don't seem to understand. Just because you think gay kissing is mundane, does not give you the right to hide that info from Destructor. He should get to make that decision for himself and his family. But we are straying way off topic so that is all I will say on this matter.

Then you could have answered “there are two characters making out”. You pointing out it's two men kissing is what painted it as something you consider problematic. If you'd think it's not problematic you wouldn't have pointed it out.

To some people it is.
Yeah, and that's what's weird af, too. What are you saying? More power to homophobic bigots?

Yes, let's do that.

I thought this episode was better than the last two, but not as good as the start of the season.

It was nice to finally get a T'Lyn episode. She really puts off some serious Daria Morgandorffer energy. I had some worries that her deadpan might be boring if not in small doses, but I'm glad to see I was wrong. The A plot was a bite-sized, coherent character arc for her, and worked well.

The actual scenario, however, left something to be desired. I'm okay with the whole idea that T'Lyn's out of control emotions affected the whole crew. But they didn't affect the whole crew. Boimler and the security team were shuffled off into the B-plot, and seemed to act pretty much normal (for this show anyway). Why did T'Lyn affect the bar, but not them? Actually, it seemed like she was pretty much only affecting the bar. Were her quarters nearby or something.

The Boimler B-plot was...fine...but it felt kind of like a throwback to the first/second season, and didn't have the most relevance to the current goings on. I was also a little confused that Shaxs was calling Boimler "baby bear" - because I thought that was his nickname for Rutherford. I guess he just calls them all that?

He's consistently wanted to know if there was adult/sexual content when asking about age appropriateness. Presumably, a heterosexual kiss would warrant mention as well, there just wasn't one in this episode.

Actually, yes there was. There was a heterosexual couple making out on a table in the bar. In addition to letting him know about the gay kiss, I'd also tell him about that. We don't know what level he wants his kids to see/not see.
If you look at most movies/tv shows on IMDB, it would list both of these (Under Parent advisories). Not all movies/shows have them only because no one entered the info.

If you really pay attention there's a naked ass in the background as well.

Also, most kids are exposed to Gay chit on a daily basis now.
(unless their parents keep them in a closet)

Mariner is right, T'Lyn does look great for 62.

T'Pol was of similar age in ENT S3 when Tucker inquired about her age.
I suspect it was a throwback to that.

But considering that Vulcans would live to 200 years old (or older), it stands to reason that they in their 60-ies would be similar to Humans in their 20-ies (comparatively speaking)... although, Humans in Trek do live until 150... so, 75 would be middle age for Humans, and 100 for Vulcans (approximately).
