Oh, Canada (in canon)!

Sure, if Canada is a federation of planets, why on earth is it separate from the federation of planets 100 miles to our south?

I don't mean in the current era, but 150 years from now, in a post scarcity utopian future?

As is often the case, I have no idea what you’re talking about.

But I’m sure it’s not about Canada in Star Trek canon (the actual topic).

So drop it. Now.

I'm responding purely for clarification.

We're discussion why Canada rarely comes up in Star Trek

An easy answer is why would Canada need to exist in a post scarcity Utopia?

I'm suggesting it isn't needed because we'd just blend in with the US. There's no reason not to.

So instead of “dropping it”, which I’ve asked you to do twice, you’ve decided to continue arguing with me. Interesting choice.

This topic left Star Trek pages ago thanks to you. And judging by the number of complaints we’ve received about your posting over the last couple of days, your fellow posters are also tired of your off-topic walls of text.

You’ve earned a reply ban. I really suggest you rethink how you conduct yourself here if you want to continue posting on this board.

If your major issue is political, by Canadian standards the US is a very unified as a country.

In the U.S., there was literally a fascist coup attempt that left five people dead and threatened the life of the outgoing Vice President. There is persistent credible concern about a civil war breaking out. People are being imprisoned for traveling out of state to obtain medical care that is banned in their home state.

The idea that the U.S. is more unified than Canada is completely disconnected from reality.

It's a lot lot different in smaller countries. It's one thing to have fighting parents, it's another when your parents haven't lived in the same state for 15 years. They can claim to have a perfect marriage but when they don't interact with each other there's a problem.

The U.K. suffered a 30-year civil war in Northern Ireland that's threatening to resurface and Scotland keeps trying to secede.

Belgium regularly finds itself unable to form a functional cabinet for months at a time after elections.

Sorry dude, but Canada's issues with national disunity just aren't that special.
