I have to say, given a viewing of the season finale, I really like the casting of all the legacy characters who have made appearances. They've done a fantastic job and I really feel like I'm seeing people we'll get to know later on in their slightly younger selves.
There are only 2 (and a half, I suppose if you count Chekov) OG characters left to unveil. Sulu, the physicist turned helmsman and probably my favourite part of the original cast - Doctor Leonard McCoy. The shadow that DeForest Kelley casts is long and as a result McCoy is even more difficult than Kirk to cast properly.
But I want to see him, maybe pre-divorce and a young father with his whole life in front of him. A sunny and optimistic McCoy, what a sight that would be.

And Janice Rand, but my guess is she didn't board the ship until after the second Pilot.
I have to say that, among all the wonderful ways that SNW has evolved this year, Wil Wheaton has grown on me immensely over the ten weeks. He puts everything into that show. His segment talking to the Legacy Effects people was delightful for the spontaneity and depth of his enthusiasm.
Karl Urban also did a wonderful job as Bones so who ever they get to portray a young Prime McCoy has some big shoes to fill as well.
I feel I'm the only one who didn't enjoy Urban, a very good actor, as McCoy. The accent and persona felt quite put on to me and rather like a caricature, whereas McCoy really needs to feel natural as the earth, in my opinion.
I'm interested to see who eventually ends up in the role, especially as I've found every recast TOS role in SNW to quickly feel like the most interesting and definitive version of that character.

Now I remember where I heard the most decorated combat officer - Una said in Q&A he’s:
"the most heavily decorated fighting captain in Starfleet”
But that was before the Klingon War, which Pike wasn’t in, so I’m sure that’s no longer the case. I’m guessing his experience isnt from yet another war.
