Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

We know "the little blonde lab technician(who may or may not be Carol Marcus)," Ruth, Janice Lester, Janet Wallace and Areel Shaw for sure happened before TOS and if Carol is a different woman altogether that's a bare minimum of six serious relationships before he took command of the Enterprise for the first time.

‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Returns To Top 10 Streaming Chart

Once again Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has shown up on an important chart tracking popularity of original streaming shows.

Nielsen has reported their Top 10 streaming charts for the week of July 3-9, which included the release of the fourth episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2, “Among the Lotus Eaters.” And once again the series is on the chart for original streaming programs, this week at number 9. This is the third time Strange New Worlds has shown up on this chart for this season, the last time was at #8 two weeks ago following debuting at #7 for the week of the season premiere.

Strange New Worlds has now matched the third season of Star Trek: Picard which ranked on this same chart 3 times during its 10-episode run. Due to how Nielsen releases these charts over a month after the week being analyzed, Strange New Worlds has six more chances to beat Picard’s record. Since Nielsen started measuring Paramount+ data earlier this year, only the two Star Trek shows and the Yellowstone prequel 1923 have appeared on the original top 10 chart.

Janice Wallace was the scientist in the early drafts of TWOK, before they made up a new character.

On a different note, it's now funny to think that Spock trying to be a Vulcan's Vulcan in TOS is because of Boimler.

Boimler's not the main reason Christine's leaving.

Spock becoming a stuffy ass is because of a broken heart. Didn't see that coming.*

*The character transformation, that is. Everyone knew the breakup was coming sometime.

Even though there were some cracks, it seemed like Boimler disclosing to Chapel that Spock needed to be unemotional for the future to play out correctly seemed to have had a big effect on her.

I mean, yeah, its a 57 year old spoiler these two weren't going to work out but damn does it work. I was actually rooting for a relationship I knew had no chance in hell. And I'm not even typically a shipper. But the chemistry between Ethan Peck and Jess Bush is undeniable. (I'm also not convinced the relationship is completely over.)

Strange New World is also adding depth to the search for Spock cause we know the crew risked Court-Martial by stealing the Enterprise and going to go get Spock's body from Genesis but for people like Kirk and Uhura they have known the spock even longer than the other core 7 (Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, McCoy) so this is almost personal for them.

SNW adds a great deal of depth to all of the legacy characters.
