Someone on the art team did research, those are some real Trek terms, canon and non-canon.

There's a bucnh of other great set blueprints in there as well.

I was trying to compare the bridge Diameter to TOS, not quite sure what the dimensions say in that pdf. I think the bridge rail is about the same diameter and the space between that and the outer stations is wider.

Yes. The one in Season 2 was measured by someone online (who I can't find now) to actually fit inside the original Discovery. The one in Season 3 is the one that's way larger than it should be.

If you ignore the fact they showed TARDIS tech existed in Enterprise.

It's funny to think that if the nacelle pylons were still straight, they might've redesigned the "cathedral" in Engineering so the pipes plugged directly into the engines.

It just still blows my mind. The pipes are forward of the Engine Room. Did anyone ever try that one before when doing TOS deckplans?

I believe the radius from center to bridge rail reads 18 feet, but can't be sure.

The perimeter stations look to be about the same size as on the original series. Those partitions space them out and the main viewer takes up enough of the circumference to allow a bigger diameter to the whole.

These plans make it clear that the SNW people made more effort to think through how the sets fit into the now-1443 foot Enterprise than Jefferies probably did on TOS. Other than the TOS landing deck and bridge, just about everything in the various TOS deck plans that have been made is conjectural.

I think there's something about the cathedral being always behind the actors that psychologically suggests that it's, well, behind the characters in the ship's layout.

I think the closest I’ve seen is one of our resident artists in the Fan Art forum drew up deck plans where they explained the difference between the S1 and S2/3 engine rooms as being different rooms on opposite sides of the cathedral.

edit: I’ve just noticed that for the Discovery diagram, it’s warp core is forward of Stamet’s spore drive room, which I also thought was the other way around.

A rescaled 1701 Refit cutaway would be primo also

We might, one day, see a revised version of the refit in order to square it with the new scale and design of the Enterprise as seen in SNW. We'll have to wait and see.

The thing's pretty well established, though, and the producers of a hypothetical future appearance of the ship might choose to simply tweak it a tiny bit and then establish the larger size by fiat. The TMP ship has not aged as clearly as the TOS version.

It really hasn't aged at all, it still looks sleek and modern, and flows well with Trek aesthetics.

Beyond a rescaling of the refit and Excelsior, I don't see an issue at this point.

I think the only thing that you'd really see is the Refit bridge getting new displays

I dunno…the TOS version was pretty well established and dare I say…iconic at least in Sci-Fi circles and that didn’t even give them pause in signing off on a revision. I would expect if they do keep going we’ll see revised versions of all the classic ships, new refit, new Excelsior, new E-D, new Voyager, etc…if someone has an issue with that is up to them.

At least we know when the revisions do come down they will do a good job. Because as much as I prefer the TOS design, the Discoprise is a good looking ship.

Keep in mind the SNW Enterprise was meant to establish a more smooth visual continuity to the TMP+ Enterprise and Enterprise-A
