7 - entertaining episode that is in line with decades of typical Trek shows. I have to say, I was kind of annoyed that Ortegas was not taken on the away mission! cool to see Broadway vet Reed Birney in a guest roll.
She flys the ship!

the initials for discovery are dis or disco not std. No trek uses s and t before the name in the initials. Std is a deliberate insult thought up by the trollsIt is clear to me now that the Trek Universe is a multiverse and STD (They should have considered the initials before naming the show), and SNW are in another multiverse. It's just easier in my head canon to think of it that way.
I didn't say anything insulting or even controversial. Every time relationships or sex come up in this forum you inevitably say something that suggests you have no idea how people interact in an intimate fashion.Ok what? Your comment is totally uncalled for. I said nothing profane, immoral, unethical, or illegal in my post. We are discussing fictional charcters, yet you go straight to a personal attack against me, a real person.
DISCO for me.DSC.
That's my abbreviation for the series and almost never waver from it.
solid medical adviceI think if everyone stopped reacting to "STD" then it would have no power.
I was talking about Pike and Batel, fictional characters. I don't come in here to have comments made about me personally, no one does, and it's out of line.I didn't say anything insulting or even controversial. Well, why not illustrate rather state a perception of ignorance?I didn't say anything insulting or even controversial. Every time relationships or sex come up in this forum you inevitably say something that suggests you have no idea how people interact in an intimate fashion.
DSC is the official out of universe and in-universe three letter abbreviation.
Back to Ortegas, I found it unfortunate that they finally had the chance to explore the character and the only revelation we got about who she is, was “I fly the ship!” Well, no shit, we figured that one out in her very first scene in episode one. The actress got to show a little more range, however, and has the potential to be more than just the irreverent jock pilot with a penchant for banter and backchat. At the moment though, she’s by far the least interesting character on the show.
To keep it consistent with the previous abbreviations.Memory Alpha is still calling it DIS, isn't it?

Get low, get low, get low.Meanwhile TrekCore uses DSC, but uses LOW instead of LDS for Lower Decks.
Thanks, I did so.If you have a problem use the report button and let a mod decide.
Dat udder show.'Dis what?
Spock wears a Ship's Services or Command tunic in the second pilot episode when he's clearly manning the Science station on the bridge so all we can deduce from all this is that Starfleet is very, very prone to just changing things at the drop of a hat because reasons. Of course if he's already First Officer under Kirk from the start of the latter's command then that would explain the shirt color right there.
