Cringed at the "What if you had to let Hitler live to save the world?" story. A teenager's idea of a morally complex quandary.

Who says it's supposed to be that? It's just an emotionally difficult choice for La'An to accept what has to be, not a complex one.

I quite enjoyed the episode and characters from start to finish.

I guess there's a reason why the Toronto police in this episode ("Toronto City Police") use a different name than REAL Toronto cops ("Toronto Police Service")? If so, I'd like to know what that reason is.

I mean, if this had been New York, would they have been able to call them the NYPD? Or would they have to make up a name there too?

To avoid bad PR.

I'm not sure why there WOULD be any bad PR, since the cops in this episode don't seem to be doing anything that would deserve it.

I guess the Toronto Police Service just has stricter rules regarding how their name and likeness can be used in fiction.

For example, in the first couple of seasons of Blue Bloods, they COUD use the name "NYPD" but could not use the real NYPD logo. Similar story here, perhaps?

It's not just on screen but what might be perceived outside of filming. Basically, avoiding any possible problem even if remote.

Maybe they didn't like the idea that their officers would back down and release suspects if being filmed by heckling bystanders.

The RCMP has very strict rules about representation in TV and film productions. Takes a very long time to acquire and they have veto rights over all portrayals if produced in Canada. Perhaps the Toronto Police Service has similar rules. Or, for such a brief set of scenes, the producers didn’t want the hassle.

They don't want to give the impression that actual peace officers from their law enforcement agency were actually used in the episode. To do otherwise would technically be impersonating an actual Law Enforcement Officer/Organization. It also could be that allowing use of the official badges/uniforms/legos in a film is just against their policy, and the production company would be informed of this fact.

The fuzz raided the set of Hill Street Blues once, and filled up three paddy wagons.

Between the Lake Ontario bridge that does not exist in real life (like the Eugenics Wars), the Romulan temporal agent, and Khan being made the central figure to the formation of the Federation, this story really does feel like they wanted to use Archer instead. But the writers couldn’t get the green light to use Archer, so they moved it a century back and rewrote it around Khan and the Eugenics Wars. Obviously in universe, the Romulan temporal agent may not have put as much value on Archer as Daniels did, but it hard to not think based on what was learned from ENT with the TCW and all that, that Romulans wouldn’t be interested in 10 yr/o Archer over 10 yr/o Khan if they were interested in the Federation not forming.

But it was still a good episode in its own right and I’m happy Canada got some love for a change. 8/10

A computer simulation chose her target.

If they blew up a real bridge, it might have congested real world traffic.
