Sounds like people I work with and work for me.Sorry, but Ortegas IS a quippy, childlike, backtalking helmsperson. I've seen nothing else.
No wonder I like her.

M"Benga is Spock's Wise Old Man on his Hero's journey. IMHO Spock failed his hero's journey in TOS. He winds up rather befuddled, talking to Data and wanting to be a machine man.Is M'Benga's reputation now the War Doctor? A healer and a warrior.
Well, OK. To each his or her or whatever pronouns own.Sounds like people I work with and work for me.

true! Mirrorverse, Prime and Kelvin makes three Universes, ergo the terminus Multiverse is warrantedIt is clear to me now that the Trek Universe is a multiverse
oh no, your one of thoseand STD
nope, those are still Primeand SNW are in another multiverse.
It is clear to me now that the Trek Universe is a multiverse and STD (They should have considered the initials before naming the show), and SNW are in another multiverse. It's just easier in my head canon to think of it that way.

in the prodigy season finale we saw that when the universal translator is turned off fleetwide chaos ensues as all the alien species can no longer communicate, apparently standard isn’t standard at all.Pike makes mention of the crewmembers wearing subdermal universal translators for the away mission- I think that is the sort of thing most people (starfleet or not) would wear all the time- if not subdermally, than as a clothing item. If you could say there was a single, universally useful 'borg' implant that a human could have, that would be it. Imagine going anywhere and not having a language barrier?
It's one of those things that generally doesn't get addressed on Trek, but it's in my head-canon. Like the Last Starfighter, the characters all speak their native language or whichever one they are most comfortable with, and hear it back, but we (the audience) hear English.

He was able to read the totem in his house.are we sure abou that? I remember him explaining: "this symbols on my arm are my name" and later, at his hut "those are the same symbols that are on my arm, so this means this is mine!"
that doesn' really sound like literacy to me
I have been described by these words.. among many..Sorry, but Ortegas IS a quippy, childlike, backtalking helmsperson. I've seen nothing else.
Well when you speak fluent sarcasm as I do people snarking back is expected.Well, OK. To each his or her or whatever pronouns own.
I seem to recall being told (back when I was knee deep in the Star Wars vs. Star Trek debate) that Star Trek was designed for intelligent, thoughtful, introspective people and Star Wars was for children who liked flashing lights. They did.
Then people like you found ways to twist the name for your own pathetic amusement.
Name me another Star Trek show where the ST is included in the abbreviation?
It's so interesting because people say they want more connective tissue yet when it happens there are claims of a different universe.I love the more the show ties itself to previous continuity, the more some fans try to say its disconnected.
"But you...I never forget a face. Doctor...M'Benga...isn't it?"Star Trek: The Wrath of Zack
Also in DSC Season 2, when they encounter the sphere it knocks the internal translators offline. No one can understand each other except Saru, who spoke like 40 languages.in the prodigy season finale we saw that when the universal translator is turned off fleetwide chaos ensues as all the alien species can no longer communicate, apparently standard isn’t standard at all.
No, I think it's a TV show made in the 2020s as opposed to a TV show made in the 1960sSo you think that it's the same universe even though the timeline changed, so that everything in that universe is different from itself now past a point of divergence.
Sneaky.
