In Star Trek (2009), Kelvin Kirk gets his ass kicked by two Romulans and a Vulcan, but pops back up like the energizer bunny with just an injured hand (from when one of the Romulans stepped on it.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Christine being able to beat up a Klingon after taking a performance-enhancing drug is no worse than Kira being able to beat up Klingons and Jem'Hadar three times her size on the regular on Deep Space Nine.

I'm sure you can find examples in the old shows here and there. I remember hearing writers tried to stay away from current slang in the past. Maybe they changed that policy. At least they aren't playing more Beastie Boys songs.

I'm sure we'll have Kirk mentioning to Spock how he dipped little girls pigtails into Ink Wells when he was a kid again, and Spock will respond with a comment about fly paper in a future SNW episode.
