Wasn't "Orions" the guess when we saw the Shepherd's ship? I'm hoping we see them sooner or later though.

Pretty sure it's a Gorn Destroyer. Like the one we saw in "Momento Mori."

Akiva Goldman, a person involved with making Star Trek: “The closer we get to that moment, just after ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before,’ we have to acknowledge canon. And the closer we get, we have to start to resemble The Original Series.” :adore: (Emphasis mine)

I wonder if that includes ships and shuttlecraft.

EDITed to include link because my keyboard skills failed.

    I have my doubts.

We already saw what ships and shuttlecraft still looked like in the later 2260's in "A Quality of Mercy."

Hell, even beyond Federation designs, we have a new look for the Romulan Bird of Prey, and even Picard seasons 1 and 3 maintained that look.

*Yes, technically SNW took the design from Picard S1.

That was an alternate timeline changed by Pike staying in command.

I doubt Pike staying in command a few extra years had much effect on Starship design. The Enterprise, Farragut, Shuttlecraft, and BoP all retained the updated look.

We already know what ships and tech look like in 2265-69 because it has been visually established in TOS-R and TAS. That's not affected by appearances in an aberrant alternate timeline.

And yet "The Cage" and "The Menagerie" showed us what the 2250's looked like...

    And yet...

Look like strict literalism is going to win.

It's probably just for the poster so it wouldn't read upside-down from this angle, but I notice the registry is flipped to the pilot arrangement, with the one on the port legible from forward and the one on starboard legible from aft. The DSC/SNW ship usually uses the TOS orientation because it's more familiar (as with everything else).

They said when they announced the crossover that it would have animated segments. My assumption was that anything that took place in the 24th century would be animated and anything in the 23rd would be live-action, but, on the other hand, some higher-ups vetoed including LDS designs in the background of this season of PIC, so maybe there is a plan to show the ship in live-action.

Refits. What "The Cage" and "The Menagerie" show us is the Enterprise in 2254. That appearance can easily change by 2256. The only iffy section might be Short Trek where Spock comes aboard, but given that those Short Treks were never released here anyway...

The Enterprise is undergoing constant refitting. That's why the nacelles change during episodes.

It's a wonder they were able to do any exploring with all that time they spent in drydock.

Ships were faster back then. Kirk didn't worry about warp 10.

Enterprise spent time in drydock at the end of DSC s2 and in the beginning of SNW s1. The ship got heavily hammered and repaired. In comics and novels, the Enterprise suffered massive battle damage during the TOS era and got fixed quickly enough to be back in action for the episodes.
Plenty of time for exploration and drydock service.

Yeah, the entire front portion of the Enterprises saucer was destroyed at the end of Discovery S2
