Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

It's a wonder they were able to do any exploring with all that time they spent in drydock.
They have ships with engines that WARP spacetime - who knows what small side effects that has on their reality from time to time (pun intended) in Universe? ;)

I wonder if that includes ships and shuttlecraft.
I’ve a feeling what Goldsman and the others running SNW think of as “canon” might not be the same as some of us. *

Indeed. I figure it means we're going to see more things like a Scottish engineer, an Asian-American stepping in as the head of Astrosciences, Spock being promoted, etc.

I highly doubt we're going to see a massive visual change to the ships/sets/uniforms.

I mean, whatever they do it won't be received well. It will be the greatest travesty ever foisted upon Trek since the dawn of time!

Ok, hyperbole aside, I have a feeling we will see minor tweaks throughout until they strike the balance they like between TOS and modern production.

No idea, why?
A different VFX team might render and composite slight differently.

What is that link as I seem. Not to be able to get to it.

I also remember an interview where one of them said they'll gradually get closer to the TOS designs

“Look, when it comes to canon, we’re screwing with it a little bit,” Goldsman admits. “There was no indication that Uhura served on Pike’s Enterprise. We’ve invented that from whole cloth. We’ve retconned Spock and Chapel’s relationship. But, I think it is our job to get there. The closer we get to that moment, just after ‘Where No Man Has Gone Before,’ we have to acknowledge canon. And the closer we get, we have to start to resemble The Original Series.” Why after “Where No Man Has Gone Before?” Well, for Goldsman, The Original Series as we know it doesn’t really start until we get the core cast (including Dr. McCoy) and everybody else in their “correct” uniform colors, which wasn’t really the case until a few episodes into the show’s production run.
that quote seems to be more about characterization not ''sets''/ships

I still think that some-time before Pike hands over the command of the USS Enterprise to Kirk, most of the ship will get destroyed with only just enough to limp back home.

When they fix the ship, it's going to end up shrunken to what we see in TOS.

You must not be able to read, because theyr'e talking about characterization and character.

But nice try ;):techman:.

I don't normally like posts which consist of just a GIF, but that is genius and really says it all.
