Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

I think it's more that people have an awful hard time believing that the show would transition from what we see currently, to what we'll call a..... somewhat dated appearance, both inside and out.

I don't see it happening.
Exactly the same.

When it comes to the goings on in Star Trek, I'll sooner favor the interpretations of people actually involved in making it over John Doe on the internet who very vehemently declares otherwise. In the absence of an explicit statement on the matter, in the meantime I think that's a reasonable direction to lean. And with Picard making them both coexist simultaneously in canon within the same show, that's looking like a credible interpretation.
But like I said, that doesn't mean I ever expect SNW to throw out the existing sets and trot Anson Mount around Ticonderoga. That transition’s never going to happen on-screen during SNW. At most we get the implication at the conclusion of SNW that the ship is about to get a refit, with schematics on a screen that look like the TOS externals, and that’d be the extent of it. Easy peasy, take it easy.
All they changed was the pylons and deflector dish.
Then with SNW they added some new windows and changed the size of the bridge window.
Yeah I'm not sure that tweaking the pylons is really making any particularly strong statement about anything either way, it's just some additional tweaks made on the road to final.
They do look good but it wouldn't have been my choice.
For me the only thing about SNW enterprise is the swept nacelle pylons. It's not a big deal, I just think I would have preferred they stick with straight ones to kinda jive a bit with TOS, but it's w/e
Me too. The straight pylons as originally designed would have been my preference. Hey, maybe that's a running change I'd be happy to see installed during the run of SNW.

If things go well, I expect a transition from Pike to Kirk. Either in a new show or just more SNW. And Kirk will be sitting in the same set as Pike, with maybe a few tweaks.

^^^
Sums up my feelings about the situation exactly.

I dunno what it is, but I genuinely dislike the straight pylons, when applied to the "Discoprise".

They look fine on the TOS Enterprise, but there's something about the look they give the modernized version that I just don't like.

I much prefer the swept back pylons. Makes it look sleek and fast and somehow more modern while still being gloriously retro. Plus, it goes well with the NX-01, which is always a plus in my book.

Opinions will vary.

*credit to Marc Bell from Artstation for the image of the straight pylon version.

I personally like the straight pylons. Both look good.

What if we compromised on the Pylons?

Triangular Pylons =D

They are a bit if an overkill with the details, but I've just chalked them up to being heatsinks for the oversized impulse engines.
Oh, sure, they're really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I'm just amused that they first appeared on the Excelsior in TSFS (c.2285), and Eaves anachronistically put them on nearly every ship of the DSC era (c.2256). I just find it kind of funny. :)

Galaxy-brained conspiracy theory: the series finale of SNW will indeed alter the ship inside and out from DIS specifications to TOS specifications, and a new TOS recreation bridge set will constructed to be passed along to CBS-Paramount's next Trek series.

yeaaaaa thats a bit too far out there.

If any changes happen to the Pikeprise...they'll be minor and incremental towards a more TOS style asthetic..my guess is interior color schemes.
