Borg have never been shown to telepathically control someone not already in their collective, long range, Professor Charles Xavier style, like Jack did with Mura this week. Before I could buy the Borg thing becaue Jack touched Sidney La Forge, and maybe he "assimilated" her or something to mentally control her fight with the changelings. Jack never touched Mura. He controlled him purely telepathically, something a Borg has never been shown to do in all their many, many appearances in Trek. If it is the Borg, then they're changing the Borg to fit their plot.

Ok, you guys have convinced me... I've gone from 33% chance the Jack mystery box is Borg related to 67%. TPTB probably feel they have a "new take" so are willing to confront Borg fatigue head on...

That said, the big bad is likely not Borg related.

This season is definitely a Trek movie homage.

Why would a blade even hurt updated changelings? Sure they might be more solid than the originals, but the point of a blade is to cut or stab vital organs. If you have no need for such organs then getting stabbed isn’t going to do much. Unless the henchmen weren’t changelings to begin with. They were infected with changeling goo so they could heal and maybe change outer form, yet they were still solids? This season is definitely a hell of a lot better than last one, but it’s still got its issues.

The Changelings are not right. They can better mimic solids and their internal structures which might cause them to feel pain in a different way. And if they are linked in some measure then perhaps the pain momentarily disrupts that link which would be its own form of pain.

I like these new changelings. I welcome more of it from this season.

That said, the big bad is likely not Borg related.

They are considered Trek's greatest villain and Picard's most notorious foe. Wouldn't surprise me in the least, even if the Borg suck and blow simultaneously.

The red glowing eyes have me leaning more towards the Pah'Wraith.

I don't think the final big bad will be from a series that isn't TNG.

Still #TeamBorg here. I don't get why Vadic would make such a thing out of Seven being present in that bridge scene with Jack otherwise.

Have you watched Star Trek before? There's been a ton of villains that were defeated with violence.

Can someone explain why Vadic, who had control of the Titan, didn't just use the Titan's or the Shrike's transporters to beam Jack away and be done with it? Or if transporter inhibitors were placed in sickbay, just send a chengeling team to the inhibited area and grab Jack?

If she was going to be generically evil anyway, why not just kill all the organics? Why bother with hostages at all?

Come on, we all know Dukat burning the galaxy as a pah wraith god would've been a lot cooler than what we actually got in Dicovery for the Burn's cause.

I suspect that Worf's rather cringeworthy gushing to Troi was the incident Dorn alluded to in an interview where he said something like "I didn't think Worf would talk like this and Jonathan Frakes was like, Mike just say the lines".

Death is fairly permanent for minor characters. It's only the biggies that generally get a pass somehow.

As long as they want a pass. Pretty much the only mainline character that died and stayed dead was Tasha Yar.
