Don't go into a Spoilers thread before you've seen the episode LOL There are other general picard threads for spoiler free discussions about what might happen in the episode.

I think the title is misleading. Terry Matalas probably never liked that Picard surrendered in "Encounter at Farpoint", setting off TOS Only Fans for years to come. So he'll have Picard not surrender. It's possible this is an overcorrection. Picard is so determined not to surrender that someone dies. Vadic has her moment of, "And now to show that my intentions are sincere, I shall kill one of the prisoners." Keeps with the TOS Movie theme and adds a twist with Picard not surrendering coming with a price... just not the price of Jack. I don't think they'll kill him like they killed David. It'll be someone else. But it will serve as another critique of the TNG Movies. Picard can't act like Rambo Picard and think it'll be consequence-free.

Let's see how much of this happens, or it any of it happens.

If they want to show effective audience viewing consequence Vadic will kill Sydney, that's how I would have written it. Killing random unknown Ensign, Lieutenant , not so much

IDK - Once I KNOW an episode has dropped, I don't come into one of these threads until AFTER I've watched it.

The threads like these have a big SPOILERS tag attached - and as they're for discussing the episode; if someone wants to post something as they're watching (you can pause and screencap using various methods); who am I to say no?

He was about to surrender to the Ferengi in “The Last Outpost”, before realizing they were also snared by the Tkon. That’s twice in the first four episodes, you should have seen the angry letters in the official fan club magazine, lol.

I know people are pointing to the red eyes but I really don't see how the Pah Wraiths fit into this season. That just feels completely off to me. And why have Picard's own son be an emissary of evil? That makes no sense.

I'm remembering poorly this once where the Joker saved the Multiverse by killing Lex Luthor at a critical moment, over a petty personal grudge.
