News Starfleet Academy Coming to P+

SNW is heavily built upon nostalgia too, in a way its the premise of the whole show.

You're right, but SNW is in a unique position to develop previously under-developed characters and tell stories in a unexplored area of the Star Trek universe that it's practically brand-new.

The 32nd century is not that interesting to us Star Trek fans.
Why is it impossible for some people to understand that just because YOU don't like something, doesn't mean that everyone else shares your opinion.

I may not care much for the 32nd century, but I certainly wouldn't say it isn't interesting. I also wouldn't presume that others share that opinion.

This forum is proof enough that plenty of fans do find the 32nd century interesting, and would love to see more of it.

Automatically, it makes you wrong about your assumptions in every possible way.

@HotRod most people like myself who hate Disco and the 32nd century setting are aware that their opinions might not resonate with everyone.

The ultimate goal is sovereignty of interpretation. If we are loud enough we might be able to make CBS reconsider its decision to greenlight the crappy Starfleet Academy concept.

Take a look at the reactions on social media, most people hate the idea about a Disco sequel due to the fact that Disco was such a major letdown.

We still can make them axe the show, just like the Section 31 show or several Kelvinverse movie proposals. It is not too late.

Nope.

This whole reply is one of the most asinine things I've read all week.

Star Trek is Good. More Star Trek is More Gooder.

Quite the opposite, the Kurtzman gang released all sorts of mediocre Star Trek streaming content. Their artistic decisions diluted the franchise in a most painful way. We have to stop them, we will stop them.

Laugh for yourself, Sir. The truth is: social media matters, shitstorms matter, imdb scores matter, especially to a company like CBS, which aims to attract their shows to as many people as possible.

Forums like these on the other hand don’t have any influence on anything

We must not let them ruin this franchise any further.
My plan for a brighter Star Trek future:

- Social Media Havoc:
Find likeminded Trekkies with financial capabilities. Invest into shitstorms. Let them rain upon the Kurtzman empire.

- Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions:
Stop buying Star Trek products, stop watching Star Trek on streaming portals until they change their minds. Publicly divest your Star Trek memorabilia, make some noise. Sanction everyone, who was responsible for pitching Starfleet Academy.

- Friends and Family:
Tell everyone how disappointed you are in the artistic decisions of the Kurtzman empire. Explain to everyone what has happened to Star Trek and why it is important to turn the tide.
