I don't get why people post in this thread if they haven't seen the ep and don't want to be spoiled.
Old people aren't as fast at reacting compared to younger folks. How the hell Picard and Bev MISSED Vadic is beyond me and comes across as sloppy.
StarFleet doesn't have their IT Security folks calling the shots. It's rando's who don't know any better. That's why there are still security vulnerabilities. You'd think Daystrom would use holographic technicians to work on biomatter samples instead of actual people who could be compromised. Sheesh!
It's the same mentality that Geordi holds when it comes to servicing Lata without a sandbox.![]()
I really enjoyed Jack’s character at first but the “what’s wrong with Jack” thing being drug out this long is getting frustrating.
Also not a fan of him potentially being some genetically engineered super mutant something-or-other.
And if they go the route of Bev being secretly impregnated with Jack by something else a la X-Files I *will* stop watching.
I doubt it would have made much of an impression on Vadic if he had. The changelings are completely convinced that all solids are out to get them and therefore all solids must die. End of, as far as they're concerned.Nothing from Picard about how the vast majority of people in the Federation knew nothing about the experiments or the virus and would never have condoned it if it was public knowledge?
Same here. Bringing them back for cameos and killing them off in the process would be...very not good. Bad enough they did that to Icheb.Man if the real Tuvok and Janeway are dead I am going to be incredibly pissed.
Standard changeling attitude, and one of the reasons I didn't have much interest in them back in the day.Oh..wait..its only bad because it happened *to them*.
Agreed. I'm quaint enough about Trek that I really don't care for S31 and its methods. (Yes, I know DS9 did it and I didn't much care for it then, either.) Michelle Yeoh I'd watch in pretty much anything but this concept doesn't appeal to me at all. Each to their own.this episode cemented for me why I do NOT need or want a show about S31 and Georgiou (sp?). Between Geogiou being Space Cannibal Hitler and S31 embodying Mengele I am not sure how they can thread the needle to make a show about them where we are positively invested in S31 as the home of a show's protagonists. Some franchises have a place for something like that but I'm not sure Trek does.
Most of the crew had been taken off the ship in "Imposters". It wasn't as though there was the full complement of 500 to deal with the baddies.Where was the rest of the crew when the changelings beamed on board?
That would be beyond pathetic. Really hope they don't go down that road, but it wouldn't be a great surprise if they did. Unfortunately. And if they go the route of Bev being secretly impregnated with Jack by something else a la X-Files I *will* stop watching
I've got that feeling, too, that we're going to get a "he's not really yours" card, and Jack will be some kind of hybrid implanted in Beverly or some garbage like that.I really enjoyed Jack’s character at first but the “what’s wrong with Jack” thing being drug out this long is getting frustrating.

What the hell is Jack? My previous changeling related theories died this week. His powers are evolving. Now he can read minds (or at least Sydney's) and even influence/control her motor functions. If this ends up being Borg related this has really disturbing implications for Jack spreading nanoprobes without consent.
It's just this season is so drenched in nostalgia
With three episodes to go I hope we see O'Brien, Keiko, Ogawa, Barclay, and Jellico from TNG. With all the mentions of Admiral Janeway, I can't see them not having her in maybe the finale, perhaps to save the day. I'm really hoping though for more DS9 love, with characters that were created specifically for that series. With all the Section 31 shenanigans, where is Bashir or even Garak? Would it hurt to see Captain Dax as part of Frontier Day? Or Jake as a journalist? Kira could be on hand representing Bajor. The fall of the Federation, at the hands of Changelings, seems like a good enough impetus for Sisko to come back. I would be happy to see what Kasidy is up to as well. Give me DS9.

Uhhhh........cognitive dissonance?

How about you don't cut out the rest of the sentence. Just because I see the trick the magician is pulling it doesn't mean I can't also enjoy it, a good deal of the time when it comes to this season.
