I know we're already having trouble as it is with deepfakes etc. in the 21st century so I can only imagine what it's like in that regard in the 25th century, but shouldn't that whole conversation with fake Tuvok have been recorded and then broadcasted by the protagonists on some galaxy wide distress call or something?

Face had to resort to unpleasant methods to make a living after Nickelodeon fired him.

Also, what's with the implication that Irumodic Syndrome might not be Picard's deal? Maybe I'm misinterpreting but it seems like that's what they're going for? It would be big change from a long-established fact about JLP.

The implication was that what was seen as Irumodic Syndrome was a planned event and either "a long game" by the Borg or early infiltration by the Dominion.

Can Borg assimilation cause something that resembles irumodic syndrome? But then if the Changelings have Tuvok already, that kind of renders this moot as Tuvok is also an ex-B from Unimatrix Zero.

I just got frustrated with the whole “let’s set a trap for Vadic” and then it immediately fell apart. Picard, 7 of 9, Laforge and Shaw should have been able to come up with a pretty foolproof plan that would have worked. The whole ship somehow being connected to Data/Lore I’m pretty certain would have been prevented, given how many times we’ve seen starfleet ships get taken over by a single entity.

I imagine the fact that the next episode seems to involve Vedic’s henchmen going around machine gunning the Titan’s helpless crew is not going to go over well with some

This does seem like an idiot ball moment. Geordi in particular should know better than anyone not to take any chances like this. They could've had a line where Geordi said something like "this wasn't supposed to happen I isolated him from the ship's computer but lore somehow adapted to it," or whatever but that would only make it a little less weird.
Lore taking over the ship was literally, utterly the most predictable thing ever! Ugh!

Binging doesn't need to include all eps in one sitting, 1 to 2 a night, every night until done is what I consider binging.

I have been doing the 4AM thing too because I am up and it helps avoid spoilers. I conk out maybe 30 minutes after the kids.

Oh, I used to be a master binger. I could easily sit through an entire 13 episode Netflix season in a 24 hour period starting when I got home from work on Friday, watching 3-4 episodes, going to sleep and waking up the next morning early, running to get Starbucks, coming home and finishing the season by 2pm. Those days are behind me.

Now, my wife and I switch off putting the kids to bed .The baby's great. Five minutes in her bed and she's out. But my son takes a good hour some nights and either cannot or will not sleep alone. Then there's getting reset for the next day, cleaning up the kitchen, feeding the dog, loading the laundry, folding the laundry, prepping the bottles for daycare, prepping the cloth diapers for daycare, walking the dog, packing the lunches, picking up the toys. By the time, we're both in a place to be able to sit down, we pretty typically have about 12 minutes before my wife passes out so it takes about 3-4 days to finish an hour long episode of TV with her. Watching the season premiere of Succession with her has been PAINFUL. And besides, she doesn't like Star Trek anyway.

It just occurred to me that Worf and Raffi's absence isn't bad on it's face; after all, they went to rescue Riker. What's weird that Riker is ostensibly....right there.
I thought they were said to be monitoring some security traffic or something like that? It was just weird. Perhaps when they return they'll save the ship?

I wasn't actively avoiding spoilers because as far as I knew the episode has not come out yet. As far as I knew NOBODY had seen the episode yet.

And I didn't actively skip posts. I opened the thread and BAM, there it was. Didn't even have a chance to read anything else. That's my entire point.

How can I know there's a risk of seeing a spoiler about an episode I don't know has dropped yet? How could it occur to me that "Hey someone may have posted a gigantic spoiler image from the episode." when as far as I knew the episode was not able to be watched yet? Again...had the episode dropped at the normal time, you'd be 100% right. But the key point here is that it came out earlier than any episode ever has and that should have been taken into account.

Really. Stop. The thread is titled: SPOILERS. Anything in it can be a spoiler. Enter at Your Own Risk.

Hey, did they make the recap unskipable in other countries as well, or just Canada?
I wasn't able to skip it here in Oregon

I remember theories that Picards defect was caused by the violent disconnection from the collective in BOBW2 or maybe from removing Borg implants.

It was great to see Tuvok. Even though it wasn’t actually Tuvok.

It was also great to see Geordi interact with Data/Lore, Picard and Beverly discussing their long held beliefs being challenged.

If Vadic’s face originally belonged to a Daystrom scientist - albeit one for Section 31 - could they not run a background check on her for facial recognition to ID her before she disappeared to work for them? This is just bringing back flashbacks of S2 of the La Sirena crew not looking through the historical database to give them some idea as to when the divergence happens that created the Confederation timeline.

The episode is called “Dominion”, yet there is no actual backstory of the Dominion and Picard crossing paths. Wouldn’t it hit harder if we found out that the scientist that tortured the Changelings in Daystrom Station had some sort of personal ties to Picard? Like a forgotten childhood friend/classmate? Or someone Picard knew in the decade before taking command of the Ent-D? They took away the intriguing idea that Vadic’s hand was a Changeling by making her an actual Changeling, and thus the possibility that she was a victim of the Dominion that Picard had helped during the war. So they needed to give us something else and they didn’t. Maybe the answers are in episode 8, but I don't see why it could not be in this episode.

Just occurred to me that Sisko’s daughter would be around 25 at this time. They could have used her. The changelings could have a vendetta against her for her father’s actions during the war.

Was it ever confirmed that Sisko had a daughter?

Various media suggested that Sisko’s second child could be either a daughter or son. But nothing concrete.
