Deanna is literally only able to do it with Riker and other Betazoids to a certain extent. Sirtis originally used a ‘deaf’ accent to show the characters history on a world where all conversation is telepathic, where she would be in a minority of people who were essentially disabled by the standard of the culture — Majel sadly blew that out of the water, but the accent stuck until she really couldn’t be bothered with it in the later movies and Picard. Nah she talks like me Nan init.
It absolutely would, so surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to actually do it. As I said upthread there's fanservice and then there's something so far beyond that it can't be described. Bringing back Kirk in this show would be another level of indescribability altogether.
That would be fun - I can see all the "there's too much fanwank!!111!!!" people completely losing it if that happened, which would be entertaining. The main problem, though, is practicality. These ships have been sitting there for who knows how many decades / centuries, so they're unlikely to be spaceworthy, let alone ready to go into battle at a moment's notice. Then again practicality isn't often a consideration in Trek so who knows? It would be fun, but surely it won't happen.
Or interesting enough. If they tried, I hope they killed her. (I'm actually surprised at how much I really, really don't want to see Laris ever again.

They were about to capture her but told Vadic that Matalas hadn't cast her for the rest of the episodes this season and they went to find someone else instead.

I want to see this now. Thanks to the way so many people have overreacted to having Star Trek stuff in Star Trek. If it happens, I'll write off the impracticality as Geordi is obsessed with restoring ships and keeping them in as good a shape as possible. If he were living in our time, he'd probably be the type who likes to restore antique cars.
I think it's only an Easter Egg mainly because I can't see William Shatner being on Picard. He'd want a MUCH larger role and far more prominent role than what there would probably be time for.

Agreed. Shatner's ego wouldn't allow a mere cameo. But leaving that aside, it'd be an absolutely terrible idea anyway, for all sorts of reasons.
Absolutely. Restoring classic starships would be a rather larger project, though.
They've already recast.
I would have assumed that the Museum Ships were all going to be used in a Frontier Day parade anyways, so they would have been serviced. How they would stand against something like the Shrike is the question. I mean the Enterprise D could probably hold her own, the A less so. Which is why I speculated that Voyagers transphasic torpedoes might by at Daystrom. A Constitution class ship firing transphasic weapons would be like a B-52 antiquity launching AGM 86. A terrible day for whoever is at the receiving end.
Not a Kirk in his 60's, although they could probably make Pine look so.
Finally had time to see this, I think it was a step down from the previous few episodes but still pretty good, gave it an 8.
A few observations…
The scene were they listed all the legendary ships was actually really well done and not an all the fanwank I was fearing. The CGI of it was unfortunately very hit and miss: while the BoP, the Defiant and especially Voyager looked great the Enterprises looked very underwhelming.
The cloaking device sure took little time to install! But this IS consistent with TOS, where Scotty installs one on the Enterprise in no time. One thing I need to point out is that on the Bounty they definitely could beam people while cloaked, but perhaps they can’t with this awkward configuration, so ok. Speaking of transporters, why the one of the Titan suddenly sounds like the TOS ones? I don’t think it did in t he previous episodes.
The AI being Data and controlling Moriarty was more or less what I expected, however I didn’t expect the hybrid…quite clever idea! It being lethal when non-lethal options should be available sounds quite out of place though.
I really didn’t need yet another old broken characters who forgot themselves like so many in the Trek and Star Wars of recent…well, at least Geordi seems to have come around quickly.
Jack having Irumodic syndrome (the bullshit disease!) was unexpected. I don’t think it’s just that though.
Speaking of unexpected, I didn’t expect Picard’s body to be the super weapon…And did it look like he had his Borg implants?! Are they planning to use it to control THE FREAKING BORG to attack the federation? Maybe they need Jack’s body to revive him.

I can't help wondering if Vadic is simply after Jack "WIld" Crusher to get to Picard's Magic Ressikan Flute. The Rogue Changelings are operating from the Living Island which they themselves created.
