Honestly it's akin to how they had piles of PADDs in Berman Trek.

Even back then, it should have been obvious that a single PADD was good enough - that multiple documents would be loaded onto one PADD. But they were used as stand-ins for books, and if you can't use a pile of books for a scene, a pile of PADDs make things look messy and provide a visual cue that the character is drowning in work.

And in ST5 you can see them loading power packs into the grip similar to a real life pistol.

The DSC Phasers pistols had the same thing, but I don't believe they ever showed them loading them in any episode.

The slide-open top was actually supposed to replicate where the Phaser I was stashed on the original prop, a feature no one would know about if they didn't see obscure behind-the-scenes photos. You can see it much more clearly in Donny's model.

I don't have a problem with her getting a commission that high, considering her experience and knowledge, but I am a little concerned about putting her into the most people-skills-y job on a ship. The First Officer's main job is crew management, and even though Seven learned to code-switch to human and say "gonna" instead of "going to," she's still a bit prickly.

Except in Spectre of the Gun and A Fistful of Datas where they were all quite literal cowboys.

I'm going to assume they looked at her experience in the Fenris Rangers and looked to see if it matched equivalent experience.

Not that I think it would've gotten her anywhere without the recommendations from Picard and Janeway. Those recommendations probably helped to grease the wheels a lot.

I often have a tablet and two phones going at the same time. Much easier for multitasking then having to jump around.

And Pike, apparently (Anson Mount does the same calvary/cavalry flub on DSC).

Is there anything in this thread that supports what you're saying? I haven't read this whole thread. It's too much. But all I see is 2 pages ago in which he's critical about the episode(criticism in which I generally agree with btw) but I don't see such language in it.

    Am I missing something?

I assume the Twitter link leads to such support and is why it’s there.

This guy has a certain posting history here. He's back, for now. It'll be annoying for a bit, but we'll ride him out.

So that her promotion to Captain of the Titan by season's end will be smoother.
