Another big change from the game no one mentioned yet is the new idea that the infected are all connected through mycelium, and from the inside the episode, it sounds like they're getting rid of the idea of getting infected from masses of spoors floating in the air.
I really liked the introduction of the Clickers, they did a great job of adapting them from the game.
The stuff in Jakarta in the beginning was pretty interesting, and a nice bit of new backstory for the outbreak.
As for the episode in general, I really enjoyed it. The actors are all doing a great job, and the introduction of the Clickers really showed how dangerous they are.
I just thought of a possible reference to the came, Ellie wrapping her arm after she got bit. For those who haven't played the games, in them any time you used a medical kit the characters wrapped a bandage around their arm, and that healed them.

Jock itch and athlete's foot are both fungal infections, and they're treated all the time. I think they're actually the same fungus. Also I still don't get why in all the scenes from the start of the pandemic, all the scientists are just assuming there's no cure. Again, we cure fungal infections all the time, they have not justified why these people assumed without even trying there isn't a cure. They should have tried standard cures before realizing they didn't work.
Cool, I missed that.Easter egg, Tess' lighter is also Sam's lighter in Uncharted 4.
