Looks like a lot of fun! I'm all in just for Sallah, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mads Mikkelsen!
...and so it begins. That trailer was better than the entirety of Crystal Skull,

You, me, and plenty of other people.I have a bit of a thing for Phoebe Waller-Bridge, so that's also part of it.![]()
I think two Indy films are top tier(Raiders, Last Crusade) and two are deeply flawed but watchable(Temple of Doom, Crystal Skull). So far none of the first four are bad films to me, just two that do not live up to their potential and have trouble getting me excited.
Official trailer is out
Temple is dark and pretty outside the tone of the other three, but it's still something that I can go back to even though I think Kate Capshaw very much doesn't work.
I'd like 5 to work if for no other reason than I was so disappointed in Crystal I didn't want that to go down as Indy's last outing and I want to see it end on a better note. But, to be blunt, Indy should have ridden off into the sunset in Crusade and that should have been it.
Even if 5 is superb, Crusade should have been it, and 5 would have to be some monument to cinema to get me to change that view.
And it won't be that good.

Agreed. It was top notch, though I do like Last Crusade because of the interaction between Indiana and his dad. But, largely, Raiders of the Lost Ark is absolutely excellent and often times I treat it as the only Indiana Film, much like Star Wars.I find, for myself, that I’d be okay if we never had any past the first one. I’ve found everything after Raiders to be meh at best.
The rumor going around is that the title is
"Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny"
As I suggested sometime ago (presumably in this thread), I suspect Sallah may have been a British national orphaned as a baby in Egypt, had nowhere to go, and ended up adopted by an Egyptian family. So still going with Welshman John Rhys-Davies playing an Egyptian then? Ehhh, interesting choice in 2022.
