Looks like a lot of fun! I'm all in just for Sallah, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mads Mikkelsen!

That trailer was better than the entirety of Crystal Skull,

    I'm in.

Sallah's back, too. And we get to see a de-aged Harrison Ford that doesn't look creepy.

    Nice.

    ...and so it begins.

Yeah, I know, I know, I'm in the vast minority in genuinely loving that film but come on, people.

You can compliment something without disparaging something else.

I too, liked Crystal Skull, and I think this looks magnificent. I have a bit of a thing for Phoebe Waller-Bridge, so that's also part of it. :D

I could, but Crystal Skull was horrible.

Art is subjective, and if you liked it, you liked it, and that's great for you.

Also, too, if someone disparages something you like (As almost everyone does with the fact that I like "ST: Into Darkness") you can choose not to take it as a personal affront.

I think two Indy films are top tier(Raiders, Last Crusade) and two are deeply flawed but watchable(Temple of Doom, Crystal Skull). So far none of the first four are bad films to me, just two that do not live up to their potential and have trouble getting me excited.

Temple is dark and pretty outside the tone of the other three, but it's still something that I can go back to even though I think Kate Capshaw very much doesn't work.

I'd like 5 to work if for no other reason than I was so disappointed in Crystal I didn't want that to go down as Indy's last outing and I want to see it end on a better note. But, to be blunt, Indy should have ridden off into the sunset in Crusade and that should have been it.

Even if 5 is superb, Crusade should have been it, and 5 would have to be some monument to cinema to get me to change that view.

And it won't be that good.

I still hope we get a cartoon someday to see Indy's other 1920s-1940s adventures.

Please don't be crap! Please don't be crap! Please don't be crap! Please don't be crap! :scream::scream::scream:

I don't want one of the movie highlights of my childhood to end with a crap movie - i barely made it through Indy 4, i don't want to repeat that.

So still going with Welshman John Rhys-Davies playing an Egyptian then? Ehhh, interesting choice in 2022.

Can't wait. Not a criticism but the Crystal Skull trailer got me more excited and nostalgic for it when I saw that trailer years back, so I'm just cautiously optimistic.

I find, for myself, that I’d be okay if we never had any past the first one. I’ve found everything after Raiders to be meh at best.

Is it just me or was there a scene resembling the Millennium Falcon cockpit? Could be a submarine?

    Indeed.

Agreed. It was top notch, though I do like Last Crusade because of the interaction between Indiana and his dad. But, largely, Raiders of the Lost Ark is absolutely excellent and often times I treat it as the only Indiana Film, much like Star Wars.

As I suggested sometime ago (presumably in this thread), I suspect Sallah may have been a British national orphaned as a baby in Egypt, had nowhere to go, and ended up adopted by an Egyptian family.

Yeah, that's not what the original intention was but that's how you can easily make it work today without it being problematic and still get the joy that is John Rhys-Davies.
