I just think these 3 ships blend into eachother so well. There looks like an advancement of technology. I LOVE the TOS Enterprise, I've got framed pictures, models, statues, toys of the thing all over my den, but it hasn't aged terribly well when compared to its kin.

The "Discoprise" is the best of both worlds, a design extremely loyal to the original design, while still being modern and new.

That's how my USS Republic disco Connie looks in STO, and I would have been really happy if they had used this look for both STD and SNW.

But that's me. I've never liked the ST:TMP 1701 refit version of the ship since I first saw it in theaters in 1979, and that goes for the nacelle struts too.

I like it better than the refit. The engines look like big power generators, not art deco sculptures..

They've done it before. In 1979, under the guise of a refit. In 2009, under the guise of an alternate reality. Now they've just stopped making excuses.
You mean stoped providing an explanation.

Fortunately, Trek has novels to explain away many short comings. The Enterprise War clarifies that the Enterprise was refitted for its one-year mission to the Pergamum Nebula.

Then explain why it looks the way it does in the short trek that predates the Cage?

Also how does it explain the massive size difference?

We’re supposed to believe that the Enterprise always looked this way. And that it’s not going to change into the TOS version by the time Kirk takes command. This would also mean that the TMP Enterprise is now larger than its official size has been for the last several decades.

Unless you subscribe to the theory that DSC and SNW take place in an alternate universe from TOS/TNG etc. In that case, none of this matters.

Yes, and no, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Picard Season 2 used the TOS design.
So not really. It's more like each show can choose how to portray the ship anyway they want.
