A couple of additional thought…
The whole giant Koala thing seems to be common knowledge now.
And what about that mess with the algae and the octopus ambassador in the 2340s, whose ancestors lived in an aquarium in the 20th century?
I wonder when “serious” Trek will refer to something LDS established.
Loved how dr T’ana can identify the 20th century just smelling the air!

This show is so frustratingly schizo sometimes. After an absolute abysmal low-point of irrelevant stupidity last week (and the first Trek episode I’ve ever rated a “1/10” in these forums), this week was really great, and did all the things that I sometimes love about LD.
The Easter eggs and the meta were so abundant, it was like a giant pizza with with the “Star Trek” works on top. I loved the little wink at fans regarding “philosophical Trek” vs. “action / adventure Trek.” I loved the Regula 1 environment and costumes (do you say “costumes” in reference to an animated show?). All the little nods to past Trek movies were great (the triplets vs. the Duras sisters, the Romulan bomb that looks like the thaleron device, etc etc). Mariner commenting on “way too many made up words in one sentence” is the height of meta awesome. And finally, the Chief Engineer coming into sickbay saying “oh, not twice in one day” made me laugh out loud.
And Knicknack rules.

Holy crap, what an unbelievably inconsistent show this is.
I'm not sure what to make of this one. But I laughed more than once. And smiled a lot. And right now this goofy mess of a show is delivering the right amount of heart, content and references to make me do both on a regular basis.
This was dumb as Hell but Trek doesn't always have to have an internally consistent logic to it in order to be fun.

WARNING - Rant Section 31 Ahead
I'm worried about them doing a S31 plot in LD.
Section 31 is fine when it's essentially a paramilitary group unconnected to Star Fleet. I'm cynical enough that I believe the Federation would have a cult/reactionaries who think they need to do unethical science and sabotage of enemy powers. Basically, Cerberus from MASS EFFECT. It's a criminal organization motivated by ideology.
I have serious issues when they act like Starfleet Intelligence or the UFOP itself is actually employing it, which was the case in DISCO. It went from being Cerberus or Hydra to being the CIA/SHIELD. Which is a massive change in its handling. Is Ross using terrorists in "Inter arma enim silent leges" or is it a "legitimate" black operation.
Weirdly, I'd like Lower Decks to clear this up. Maybe have Trip Tucker show up.

They are shown to be much more in the background in the 24th century. Which I think is ok: 100 years is a long time for organisations to change.
That would be a cool way to “fix” his death.

I mean Boimler apparently wrote a really good story while movie 1 was just a murder fest.
Section 31 probably has a dirty op in mind. If William does something bad and gets seen or leaves behind evidence, Brad will probably get blamed for it. Then Brad and the Lower Decks gang will have to clear his name.
Post-Sloan Section 31 really have lowered their standards. 
Eventually William Boimler and Bradward Boimler are going to become quantum entangled, and each will confound the people around them.
I would be fascinated if they did the Tuvix story with those two.
Oh, maybe he could be "winter soldiered" where he is put in stasis when not on missions, so he doesn't have to be super old.
Sexy muscle-goat man Knicknack is Furry bait. Wonder when we'll see the first fan drawings.

Disco already referenced the spider-cows from LDS S1.
I mean, I'd actually like it if William is evil and he's...incredibly bad at it.
