As an O9er (original niner) was very happy to see the level of love and detail in the episode. Ok, not the most amazing plot for Mariner but… what a treat!

More importantly- now they have the DS9 set assets anytime they want to go back! More please.

Or he's not into meaningless sex with women who either are (or think he is) that shallow.

He can get sex anytime on the holodeck.

If it were just a matter of him not being interested, he would say that. He's a fairly straightforward guy. And he well might not be interested if he were to recognize their advances. But he did not recognize their advances.

And there is no reason whatsoever to think that any of those women lacked intelligence or confidence except your weird prejudices over the sin of giggling.

Awesome to re-visit DS9, and to see Quark and Kira again. That said, it was a pretty run-of-the mill episode, and the “Jennifer and Mariner” subplot did absolutely nothing for me. The awesomeness of re-visiting an iconic Trek location wasn’t enough to elevate this one above what was admittedly a pretty dull story.

6/10

Oh... the moment Kira started playing with that baseball... I think the whole building must have heard me shouting "Sisko's ball!!"
I do not watch next week's trailers, I do not read spoilers so this whole episode was a big surprise for me and my level of nerdgasm hit the sky!
I was like a giddy lil girl through the whole thing.
I love this show. Best of all new Trek by faaaar!

Did I misunderstand or is Jennifer not her real name, but some inside joke between the boring friends?
it was originally an ad-lib in season one, but people liked the idea of an andorian called Jennifer, so they kept it.
Personally, I like the idea: humans have known andorians for 300 years or so by now, it sounds right that some people could have names from the other culture, be it because they were born on their planet or for whatever reason.

Or perhaps she did like for example many Chinese do today when in western countries: choose a local name to make things easier.
