It's the age of streaming. Everything that can be remotely considered a franchise is being made into multiple series' now. Live action, animated. Movies? Probably. Content to lure people into giving their money to one or more streaming sites.

Star Trek vs. Star Wars used to mean 3 movies (and a cursed holiday special nobody spoke of) against 6 movies and 2 live-action series (and one animated one nobody spoke of), but nowadays it means countless movies and series' on both sides with more and more content on the way. That thing you liked as a kid? Now they're spamming you with it.

Which side has done a better job in made-for-streaming content? Which blue icon with a "+" on it gets first clicks on your TV?

I really like both, but since both isn't an option I didn't vote.
In addition ot this option, you should also include 2 others

4 I don't have Disney +
5 I don't Have Paramount +

I would choose 5.

I will have to wait someotime in the next 6 months to do that....any suggestions on what month would be a good binge month?

Star Trek feels like content for the sake of content. Some will argue the same for Star Wars but it does feel like it's exploring areas that fans were curious about to begin with. The Mandalorian has been a joy to watch while Star Trek Discovery has mostly been a chore. Both Star Trek Picard and Obi Wan let me down big time.
Star Trek Strange New Worlds has been enjoyable as has Star Trek Prodigy. Lower Deck stills feels like something that was made because someone said "we need an animated series to expand the brand".

Ultimately, why I choose Star Wars is because it's still all in universe. I can still believe that Mandalorian, Boba Fett and even Obi Wan take place in the same universe as A New Hope. Discovery and Strange New Worlds don't feel like they take place in the same universe as TOS. I can sit down and watch all of Star Wars as one big epic story but I can't do that with Star Trek 1966-2005 and Star Trek 2017 onwards. Which is a pity for me since I'm more into Star Trek.

Or even a 6th option of 'Don't have either.'

With both Trek and Wars in the streaming age, there is some that I like a lot and some that I don't like quite as much. I would say that there is comparatively more streaming SW that I enjoy.

I voted Star Wars, but its almost a tie for me. Both have stand out shows (The Mandalorian for SW, Strange New Woirlds and Lower decks for star trek), but they also have (what I consider) huge disappointments (Picard and Book of Boba Fett/Obi-Wan). There is also Andor (which I think is boring but tolerable so far) and ST: Prodigy (which I'm not bothering to watch), which don't really factor into my overall franchise opinions right now.

What made my decision is that I don't think that Star wars has a streaming show that is outright terrible, at worst its generally disappointing or boring. But Star Trek: Discovery is, in my opinion, absolutely rancid, and drags the average quality of streaming Trek down.

So, for me, Star Wars wins by a hair, but both are a mixed bag. They both have stuff I really enjoy, and stuff that I really don't like.

Both are huge segments of my long term memories. Trek has a 7 or 8 year head start but Wars first entry was a mind blowing sci-fi cinematic experience, even above 2001 imo. The first film I ever saw more than once at the theater.

Both have new episodes almost every week. Both have series which cover a myriad of people, places and events within their respective Universes. Both feature out of this world, even cinematic, visuals thanks to the Wall.

So it is even, but when I consider which is my favorite franchise, well, sorry SW.

I voted for Star Wars. They aren’t confined to a rigid number of episodes they have to produce like Trek. They decide how many episodes are needed to tell the story (3 episodes, 8 episodes, etc) and tell it.

And while Book of Boba Fett was met with criticism, there is a certain scene in the last episode that I would have popped for if I saw that as a kid. Star Wars is at least trying to capture imaginations. I don’t feel that’s happening with Trek right now

In general I’m happier with the efforts of Star Wars than with the efforts with Star Trek right now.

No contest - Star Wars. My interest in Trek is at an all-time low.

Some of Star Wars has been great, a good chunk in the average department and a little bit of undercooked meh. But that's still decidedly better than the uninspired and all-too-frequently subpar content being churned out by Paramount. I can't imagine any of this new stuff would have triggered an interest in Trek had I not already been initiated.

I love both, but voted for Star Wars. Because Disney at least cares about having fans not from the US or Canada ;)

And they aren't as strict about the numbers of episodes for a season. They make as much as needed for telling their stories.

Disney+ Star Wars has higher highs than Paramount+ Star Trek. The next question is whether or not Picard a lower low than Obi-Wan or Boba Fett.
