Lower Decks Crossover Episode

I like that SNW is getting weird and want this trend to continue.

I hope they don't even comment on any difference in medium, except maybe as a joke.

 

I wonder, will the SNW characters will be drawn Lower Decks style, or TAS style?

So far any appearances of TOS era characters in LDS have been in TAS style.

 

I'd do both and then not explain it.

I'm hoping it goes something like this:
In the last LDS episode of the season Boimler and Mariner are in the transporter room and beam out
Then we see them beaming in but when they materialize they are in live action and on the Enterprise. Both are shocked to see Pike and Spock standing in front of them

TO BE CONTINUED ON STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS...

 

This is such a strange idea. All it will be is Marnier complaining how everything is wrong.

IMO, I would write a cold opening to a LDS episode where Mariner and Boimler beam out (or their shuttle goes trough and anomaly or something), then beam back and start rambling about how they met Captain Pike, everyone else in the transporter room will be confused because they were only gone for a second, then cut to credits and the rest of the episode.

For those who don't know about the upcoming SNW crossover, it will just seem like a random off screen gag.

Though, I believe it was mentioned we'll see an animated Pike, so that may not work.

 

Likewise, I'm expecting an episode late in season 3 of Lower Decks or early in season 4 in which Mariner and Boimler mention their recent adventure with Captain Pike, and boom, we'll know this crossover episode happens before that episode, and presumably after the previous episode.

Hope fully Mariner will mention Pike's Peak.

 

The episode would have been written before season 1 aired so probably not.

 

“I was on the Defiant when it was sent back in time to Kirk’s era and the Enterprise did NOT look like that.”

“C’mon everybody knows Sisko saved Kirk from an exploding Tribble now shut up and help me move this”

 

Pike's comment on seeing Boimler and Mariner.....

"Well, this feels a bit drawn out."

 

I hope they don't spoil too much in previews. I don't want to see live action Mariner or Boimler or animated Pike until I'm watching the episode.
